Oooh that last one actually has some sauce naritively. I imagine the villain makes the transformation method temporary, so they have a group of hapless furries dependent on them and gradually doing bigger and bigger crimes just to keep their ideal form, and they struggle over if it's worth it.
Please, PLEASE, be loud about this topic, Android being open is what makes it useful, you own your phone and you should be able to install apps from wherever you wish to, don't let Google tell you what's allowed on the device you payed for!

People, this is exactly what an "online safety" law *should* do. Create standards and practices around parental controls and give parents the tools to set boundaries for their kids, *not* to collect ID/face information or let the government decide for everyone what content they're allowed to watch.
It's only self reporting, no face scans or ID checks required. You enter a birthdate or age and the operating system stores an "age bracket", not even an exact age. All applications and web services are expected to use this age bracket as the ground truth, unless any data received contradicts it.
So I've been seeing quite a few people freaking out over the recently passed California AB 1043. It requires all operating systems to verify the age of the user when creating an account. Sounds scary and invasive right? Well I actually read it and... it's actually very reasonable? Maybe even good?
Woah damn, is this a completely custom frontend and backend? It'd be awesome if you open-sourced it so other people can self-host their own streaming sites like this.
They're hoping we'll forget about this in a few months and that we'll resubscribe to Nitro so they can get back their funding for this nonsense. Cancel yours and do not forget about this.
All those Discord alternatives that y'all are trying to push (Stoat, Matrix, Fluxer, Root, etc.) will have to comply with this as well if we don't stop this.
CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES EVERY DAY & TELL THEM TO VOTE NO ON KOSA, SCREEN Act, & ANY OTHER INTERNET CENSORSHIP BILLS!
This doesn't seem worth having a Discord account
Violence and destruction is a net negative to everyone, but I think "You can't fight tyranny if you're dead." does have to be balanced with "Be the change you want to see in the world." That's the whole point of raging against the dying of the light.
They probably took one look at the current AI bubble and hardware shortages and realized tariffs would kill us. It doesn't take an economics genius to come to that conclusion.
Technically Pokémon is in a weird 3-way ownership between Creatures Inc, Game Freak, and Nintendo, which is why you have games like Pokémon Unite and Pokémon Champions being on both the Switch and iOS/Android. Maybe I'm too nice to Nintendo but I think if they could put it on GBA NSO, they would.
Unfortunately, unless VRChat drops Persona, I will not be attending Furality Ultra this year. I cannot condone using such a strong point of community to force people into what is purely a fascist surveillance dream come true.
Do not give VRChat your ID. Furality was fun, but it's not worth that.
For what it's worth there's a weapon you can craft to make the knife ghost disappear and something else you can craft later to keep it contained.
This year, and unless things change, in order to attend @furality.org you'll have to give your data to a Palantir-adjacent company. Act accordingly.
"I’m not willing to give valve much credit for literally anything"
I feel like there's a story or context behind this I'm missing.
Discord distances itself from age verification firm after ties to Palantir's Peter Thiel surface https://kotaku.com/discord-palantir-peter-thiel-persona-age-verification-2000668951
I wish Source 2 games still had the old 3D skybox so you could run around in it and look like a giant.
Hey definitely call your senators about this. Like seriously.
The best word I can think of is tribalism.
Standing up against these laws, both in the USA and numerous other nations, is integral for a whole host of issues
Gaza? Minnesota? Venezuela? If these and more matter to you, then you need to get active because these laws will handicap any online organizing for MANY causes
Wait you expect me to just trust some *stranger* to handle the chat logs of me and my friends? That's just absurd, I'd rather give it to a group of billionaire strangers instead. (You know they can be trusted because they have money.)

It's still crazy to me that there's an entire game genre out there where if you want to understand at least 1/3rd of what it's about, you have to play a Blizzard game from 2002.
And to be clear I'm not saying there should be NO regulations regarding web safety. It just has to be more focused on giving parents the tools to curate their child's experience, rather than collecting face scans and IDs.
The thing is this isn't a corporate problem (or at least not JUST a corporate problem), it's various governments implementing laws like the Online Safety Act and DSA Article 28 and SCREEN Act. It has to be fought at the government level.
