I have an old boxing of this kit, it’s really not bad! Minor fit issues and plenty of seams to clean up but I have faith it’ll turn out alright.

Looks pretty well mottled to me. What were you concerned about in particular?
If you’re black basing, maybe concentrate your undercoats in the panel centers so you get more panel line definition? But you can post-shade or use panel liner after too, so it kinda depends on how you want to do it!
Things not going quite to plan with the 7-11 Mustang, as it turns out this Indycals decal set is frigging translucent 😡 yeah, I probably should’ve touched up the paint first, but it was all blend areas that would get covered under a set of good decals.

They really are fun kits, so easy to build and look pretty good straight from the box
Swore off aircraft for awhile after dealing with a horrid Revell kit, but I’m getting the itch again. Have a couple in mind (and in the stash) for when the Mustangs are done.
Neither has as cool of a scheme as this ICM MiG though, which I finished up for Christmas in 2022.

Once again I purchased way more kits in 2024 than I finished. Woops 😅
The Y-Wing wasn’t a full 2024 build either, I started it years ago for a diorama then just…lost interest when it was 99% complete.
Hopefully I can wrap up those two Mustangs before January 🤞

For a ~41 year old kit the interior wasn’t bad, but it did require some clamps or jigs to dry correctly.
Plastic warped a bit with age. Engines really came to life with detail painting and some wires too.
