Poilievre rushed to safety after actual journalist question makes it past security
CBC News post reads: April 17, 2025 On April 16, during a live broadcast following the French-language federal election leaders' debate on CBC News Network, chief political correspondent Rosemary Barton, said "Yes, there have been remains of Indigenous children found in various places across the country ... " As CBC News has reported on multiple occasions, what several Indigenous communities across Canada have discovered on the sites of some former residential schools are potential burial sites or unmarked graves.
CW: residential schools
CBC News issued a correction for a correct statement.
There have been remains found.
A fragment of a childโs jawbonewas found at a site in Saskatchewan. The remains of aย child under five were found at a former school near Edmonton.
What Rosie Barton said was correct.

Caving to trolls is a great way to shoot yourself in the foot, CTV. Why not just add them to your editorial team and they can help with assignments and headlines and ensure no one is able to use their brain to describe objective reality again.

Here's what Pierre Poilievre said today: "Indigenous rights will remain in our control for all time."
That's a direct quote from the Conservative Party website.
Maybe he meant it a different way, but, uh "No". No, they fucking won't.
american chopper argument meme: "only citizens should get due process" "how do you prove you're a citizen?" "show them my ID" "they don't have to look at your ID" "but I'm a citizen" "you still haven't proven it" "just check my id" "that's due process"

Pierre Poilievre has bashed asylum seekers who crossed at Roxham Road and has pledged to โtrack downโ and deport many of them.
Now it turns out his own relative did exactly thatโand then got help from Anaida Poilievre and a MPโs office to stay in Canada.

anyway calling these "war plans" when they were actually plans to blow up an apartment building full of civilians because the girlfriend of a guy we don't like lived there sounds more like "terrorism plans" or perhaps even more accurately "terrorism factory creation plans"
Danielle Smith went on Breitbart and revealed she's advised the US government how it could influence Canada's election as she believes a PP government would be best for the Trump administration. Cool cool cool

Remember how much shit we all took for daring to suggest Israel would bomb a hospital? How many hospital bombings ago was that?
There are only so many times you can try to educate people that they are actually making money off the carbon tax. It's like yelling THERE'S MONEY IN THE BANANA STAND. Welp we all know how that ended ๐ ๐ฅ
Text from a Guardian article reciting Mahmoud Khalil's remarks: "In his remarks, Khalil said that in Louisiana, he wakes to โcold morningsโ and spends โlong days bearing witness to the quiet injustices underway against a great many people precluded from the protections of the lawโ. โWho has the right to have rights?โ Khalil asked. โIt is certainly not the humans crowded into the cells here. It isnโt the Senegalese man I met who has been deprived of his liberty for a year, his legal situation in limbo and his family an ocean away. It isnโt the 21-year-old detainee I met, who stepped foot in this country at age nine, only to be deported without so much as a hearing.โ โJustice escapes the contours of this nationโs immigration facilities,โ he added. Khalil drew comparison between his current treatment in the US and the ways in which he said the Israeli government uses detention without trial to lock up Palestinians. โI was born in a Palestinian refugee camp in Syria to a family which has been displaced from their land since the 1948 Nakba,โ he added, referring to the expulsion of 700,000 Palestinians in 1948 after the creation of Israel. โI spent my youth in proximity to yet distant from my homeland. But being Palestinian is an experience that transcends borders. I see in my circumstances similarities to Israelโs use of administrative detention โ imprisonment without trial or charge โ to strip Palestinians of their rights,โ he said. โI think of Gaza hospital director and pediatrician Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, who was taken captive by the Israeli military on December 27 and remains in an Israeli torture camp today. For Palestinians, imprisonment without due process is commonplace.โ
Even as he sits in a cell 1400 miles away from his home and his due-any-day-now pregnant wife, Mahmoud Khalil is thinking about the plight of others:

Last night I cried myself to sleep again with the image of another baby murdered by Israel burned onto my brain. They were laying on the dirty hospital floor in their pajamas, like they were asleep. One in another 300 universes destroyed in mere hours by the insatiable Zionist death cult.
