Australia’s worst heatwave since black summer made five times more likely by global heating, analysis finds

A tweet from NWS Lubbock saying "Check out this #GOESEast true color image of the storm system that moved across the Great Plains yesterday. It was particularly intense, with a rare scorpion-tail appearance (sting jet), and produced very high winds, a dust storm, severe storms, and significant wildfires" with an accompanying satellite image of a storm with a lot of dust entrained in it.
This is a plea for people to stop misusing 'sting jet'
A somewhat pointy end to an occluded front is not a 'sting jet'
Strong winds equatorward of the low centre are not a 'sting jet'
It's a specific phenomenon with a specific definition
