Overall I think it’s best to have both. One that’s out there on social media and that you can give to someone who asks for one, and when someone approaches asking you about comms but doesn’t request a sheet talk directly
Well I also got more commissions having a sheet, but most of my commissions were from people in communities who knew me. I haven’t run a scientific analysis on total earnings or anything but I think it depends how you pick up comms
Do you get social network randos? Or community members who know you
People who see my comm sheets pick low tiers and often end up only paying 60-80 dollars for sketches and flats while clients who don’t have paid upwards of 200 for full backgrounds and additional characters
Bit ironic to tattoo it on the inside of your eyelids if you’re supposed to be looking good while doing it
There’s also no option to do local axis bound billboarding without programming a custom particle shader as well. So doing things like thrusters or muzzle flashes that need to stay pointing out of a barrel or something is marginally more annoying than it has to be with a QoL pass
It may have the juice but does it have the sauce
There are dedicated help channels, a resources channel, people link interactive tutorials, tutorials and give advice for beginner scope projects in addition to documentation.
Godot has generally been very good about it in my experience
I’ve never understood this about the discord where newbies will come in and start demanding people help them make something and getting upset when being given resources to learn how to do it themselves
I personally would recommend people leave them alone. Them making their own space is good for everyone even if not intentional imo
If it’s godot then at least they put more effort into reskinning it than others I shall not name 🤣

You can tell we’re trying to force ai super fucking hard and it’s not working at all given we’re straight up just using human brain cells now
One of the most popular plugins is scriptIDE which overhauls the way the scripting tab looks.
I use it myself, I think that speaks volumes to what a lot of people would like improved.

I’ve been spending my time off working on setting up a lancer campaign in foundry and I’m so incredibly proud of how it’s turning out

Buldak is stirfry ramen it’s supposed to be eaten dry unlike something like shin
Personal preference wins above all though
If you’re not a spicy person consider adding some milk and cheese to it to dilute the spice. I’m a major spice head and buldak is probably my baseline level for what decently spicy but not overbearing is… which means it’s insane for people who don’t eat a lot of spice

Supposedly they purged it of a lot of assets and came to some kind of resolution with the artist but that was still an absolute disgrace
For me it’s that it looks like a painfully generic shooter but has extremely pretty visuals with the colour scheme.
It’s a shame because it seems like anything colourful is immediately being declared “ANOTHER CONCORD” like come on do you really want everything to be grey and shit?
Been spending the last few weeks slowly setting up foundryvtt to play lancer again. I’m really excited to dive back into lancer.
I have my gripes with how little depth there is at times in the background or pilot gear but I really think massif has something special on their hands.
Yeah like there are plenty of solutions like gdmaim out there that make it harder for people to go in and change the ui and sell it on iOS but harder is the operative word.
Any kind of protection is like a lock it’s only there to make stealing waste more time for resellers, not impossible

Absolutely yeah. All you can do is delay and make things harder but never impossible and thankfully people in the Godot engine discord are fairly good at explaining this to people now.
I’m glad to have seen it slowly shift to this perspective over time instead of what it was 😅
