Arts and culture are essential to who we are as a province. They bring people together, strengthen our economy, and support vibrant communities. Weβre proud to support the Vancouver Art Gallery and remain committed to artists and cultural workers across B.C.
Her work continues to shape how we think about identity, belonging, and our deep connection to B.C.βs landscapes.
Tonight we celebrated That Green Idealβthe most comprehensive Emily Carr exhibition the Gallery has presented in more than 20yrs. Carr didnβt just paint what she saw; she painted her relationship with the land, culture, and the world around her.
Grateful to the incredible VAG team, and all the artists, donors, partners, and supporters who make the Gallery such a vital part of our province. It was a pleasure to be here with Minister Brenda Bailey, Minister Terry Yung, MLA Sunita Dhir, and Councillor & Deputy Mayor Sarah Kirby Yung.
A wonderful evening at the Vancouver Art Gallery, celebrating a major moment for B.C.βs cultural community π¨
All levels of government are working together to host the worldβon their landsβwith respect, partnership, and shared opportunity. ππ€

We also spent meaningful time with representatives from the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. These Nations are family, and this partnership reflects a long tradition of working together.
We also had the chance to meet two amazing volunteers ahead of the tournamentβa mother and son duo whose shared passion for the beautiful game is truly inspiring. Volunteers like them are the heart of this tournament. πβ½οΈ
Joined by Minister Ravi Kahlon, Minister of State Terry Yung, MP Wade Grant, and MP Parm Bains, we connected with the Vancouver Host Planning Committee and toured the exciting upgrades at BC Placeβincluding learning that the new grass is being grown right here in Chilliwack π±
