'AI illiterate': NZ at risk of being left behind as data centre plans move forward A new $3.5 billion data centre that will be built near Invercargill is being touted as the country's first "artificial intelligence factory" - but will Kiwis get the most out of it?

Jesus fucking wept...

Is this the tagline that was used to get consent for this absolutely fucking dumb idea? That we are 'AI illiterate'?

I think that's a good thing. AI is a bubble that will burst so hard that it will take the economy with it.

Stuff polls are absolute garbage and mean nothing, but it's still amusing nonetheless that 59% of the respondents have said anyone but Luxon.

Also of note, Hipkins is not seen in this poll as a viable alternative.

Exactly this. EVs and solar panels on rooftops is fundamental to energy security for NZ.

The more EVs we have, the less oil we need. The more solar panels we have, the less LNG and diesel we need.

And I know Labour supporters will tell me that 'they don't have many policies because the campaign hasn't started yet'.

I'm sorry but the campaign SHOULD have started in f**king 2023, the day they lost power.

They should have been developing policies and listening to voters.

Luxon: Bad poll result 'not a major focus' for National "I can reassure you I'll be the leader going into the election on November 7," says the National Party leader.

This is good news for Labour, but not really good news for the left.

Good news because he is basically the only reason Labour are climbing in the polls lately.

Bad news because Labour have no forward or progressive policies, just weak milktoast lib BS.

My uninformed opinion on the latest #nzpol TPU Curia poll and its disastrous result for Nats/Luxon:

It's too late to roll him because his incompetence has damaged Nats image and people are pissed at status quo.

But it's also too early to do a Andrew Little -> Jacinda hype moment.

Nats are fked.

I'm beginning to think maybe centralisied three waters handled by and funded by a larger entity, perhaps some kind of... central government, could be a better option.

We could call it Three Waters.

A good reason to be hopeful in 2026: the Greens are making a real push to take Dunedin and Taieri from Labour.

100% this.

People like to deflect the bad things this govt does onto the minor coalition partners, but Luxon is literally the one who gave them unchecked power, all thanks to his amazing skills of negotiation he got from when he ran an airline.

Ferry cancellations: Stranded travellers left with thousands in costs Travellers whose sailings were cancelled by Bluebridge in the past week could not get another ferry booking until the end of January.

Good to see the private market that the government floated as a solution to the Interislander woes is working really well.

Among Milei’s β€˜enormous achievements’ is having the US bail out Argentina with an unprecedented $20 billion bailout, buying pesos to prop up the currency ahead of elections to help Milei out. Seriously, Seymour is so full of shit he can’t even find a real poster boy for his idea of economics.

My favourite part of the video is where one lady says she's scared of him because he's recording, and he captions it as her saying she's scared of him because of his colour.

White fragility at its finest.

And adding to this, we keep being told that there is a ceasefire and that all is good now in Gaza.

It couldn't be further from the truth. How many times has Israel broken the ceasefire this week?

Even if it has no malware, they often have fake capacity, and when you start putting data on it and get to its actual capacity, it just rolls over and starts overwriting the data at the start of the card.

Only way to test it is to format it and start filling it 100% with data and see if it corrupts

I disagree.

Peters being at the table in any form will mean any future Labour govt will 100% be a centrist status quo govt, meaning they will get thrown out again, and National/Act coming back stronger with a less ineffective leader.

Better to rule him out and not let Labour use the NZF excuse.

22.12.2025 00:22 πŸ‘ 10 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

And Chris Hipkins isn't ruling out working with this grifter.

Every time people don't rule him out, it gives this charlatan another term as deputy prime minister.

In today's NZ news:

- Nats are fucking the economy according to the HYEFU
- Nats are fucking the govt by merging incompatible ministries
- General Nat fuckery

Meanwhile, Labour are telling us to be not so aspirational. Steady as she goes.

Fuck off, Chris Hipkins.

NZers do not hate Chris Hipkins enough.

Seriously, this guy needs to be PM now so that he can be thrown out of office again so people learn that rhetoric like this can fuck right off back to the 1980s.

Labour are NOT a centre-left party anymore. They're barely even centrist.

Seriously, fuck off Chris.
