First half of 2025:
Started a PhD, worked on some articles… and spent the last 8 months ‘co-authoring’ my biggest project yet: a baby boy.
On maternity leave now, waiting for his arrival 💙

University life during the two most popular vacation weeks! It’s a desert 🏜️ at least I have @sofiefh.bsky.social for lunch company ❤️
Yesterday I presented my MA thesis work from last year at the 6th Nordic Zooarchaeology Meeting at Moesgaard in Aarhus.
Wonderful first experience presenting at a conference as a PhD student.
Looking forward to one more day of zooarch fun! 🦴🐾
Poster for 7-10 april 2026 Groningen conference “Transformations during the Mesolithic and Neolithic” including QR code for website www.weleer.nl/transformations.html
First announcement: April 2024 we organize in Groningen an international conference on Transformations during the Mesolithic and Neolithic. More info and webaddress on flyer/poster. Please share! #mesolithic #neolithic
Feel so lucky to have these fluffy friends roaming around just next to my office space at #Moesgård.
Quite idyllic I must say 🐂🌷
Archaeobotanist in blue dress with fish skeletons gesticulates wildly while trying to convince other people of the value of studying plants in a conference room. The slide in the background says “Seeds of collaboration. The archaeobotanical potential of submerged sites”.
Head of archaeobotanist JUST reaches over the speaker podium in lecture hall.
Kiel presentation over and done with! ❤️🌱 What an enjoyable session today, with lots of perspective on submerged landscapes. I call these pictures: 1) plant nerd gesticulates wildly and 2) is academia wildly biased against short people 😂
I'm on route to Gothenburg to give a seminar on our work exploring the role and relevance of stranded whales in the Late Palaeolithic along the European margins.
Preliminary results out here doi.org/10.1080/1556... with @shumon.bsky.social, @sofiefh.bsky.social et al. but we've got more coming :)
Spent a few days with my great colleagues at Clioarch @auarcher.bsky.social talking about science and life, going for walks in these beautiful surroundings and lastly, eating a lot of food. Lovely!
Yeah it’s very early days still, but I would love to be able to relate the various cells across sheets in a workbook, and I cannot seem to do that in Excel because I have a MacBook. So I’m looking for other options that would allow this relational feature!
I need to write down many different types of info ranging from site contexts to zooarch data, and also assess the quality/level of each information to decide if a site's assemblage is detailed enough for further analysis. I hope someone can help!
Calling all #archaeologists working with #datasets. I am wondering what software to use for building my database. I currently use Excel, but I would like to hear what others have had success with using. (% Microsoft Access though). 1/2
The theme is human-animal relationships across the meso-neo transition is Southern Scandinavia. With farming, the perception of both wild and tame animals changed, but the question is how, why, and how do we see this in the archaeological record?
Stay tuned for more! 🐗🐂🦌🐾
I hope everyone had a great Christmas 🎄
This year, my Christmas became a bit more festive, as I got the news that I will be starting my #PhD journey at Aarhus University next year, supervised by
@felixthehauskat.bsky.social @brusgaard.bsky.social & Jacob Kveiborg.
Can’t wait! 🎓🎉
Gefeliciteerd! 🥳
Today, not one, but two(!!) articles about my latest paper about children, toys and innovation have been published online
Whaaaaat - I thought you would wait and let me decorate the offices 😭😂
@support.bsky.team @bsky.app for some reason I disappear from starter packs here on Bluesky shortly after I am added.. Could you please help me getting this fixed?? #help #techissue #StarterPacks
Hello again, it seems I have disappeared from the list again.. Do you mind adding me once more? Thanks! This seems to be an issue for me in several starter packs..
Lovely, thank you, Adam! 🙏🏻
Are there any #zooarchaeology starter packs yet? Or should I make one? 🦴🦣🐂🦌🐗🐇🦄 🐀🦝🦡🐖🐄🫏🐾🐐 (yes, I put a unicorn in there, and no, it was not a mistake) #zooarchaeologystarterpack
The early winter mornings just keep getting better and better 🌅
You should definitely add @mathildevm.bsky.social to this starter pack! She fits perfectly in there! 🎀
I would love to join this starter pack, too! 🦣
We had heard about the challenges posed by motherhood within academia, but what about the previous stage? @ecfreewoman.bsky.social & I wrote our story for @science.org on how the academic system makes it almost impossible for women to even plan for a family ❤️🩹: www.science.org/content/arti...
Are you working in early Prehistory, Geoarchaeology or Quaternary Science in North West Europe. If so let me know if you want to be added to this starter pack of great researchers.
🦣 🏺
Now also with a starter-pack for Danish archaeology. Share and comment if you want to join. For all archaeologist from or working within Denmark.

I recently submitted my PhD application 🤞🏻 at AU. Now, I am working with @felixthehauskat.bsky.social on a small but cool project 🏹, in addition to my collab with a Danish museum, which is also super exciting!
So, that was me! 🦴
My ReMA dealt with similar themes, looking at 🦌🐎🐗🐂 from Hoge Vaart-A27, using theories and methods from Human Behavioural Ecology and multispecies archaeology. I am currently making this journal submission ready with my supervisors Dr. Çakirlar and Dr. Peeters
I took my BA in Aarhus, and then moved to NL, where I graduated from Groningen Uni this year.
I’m interested in past HG cultures and human-animal relationships. My BA, which was awarded a prize, can be read here: doi.org/10.3828/hgr....
