Literally cannot enjoy anything remotely digital cus I have to squint at everything and verify if it’s AI. Regular viewing and consumption has become an exhausting experience, I’ve had it up to here with it all.

Last day for #birdartweek2026. I’ve got a cheeky California scrub jay that periodically comes around, in hopes that he’ll be offered peanuts. It felt appropriate to make him my charismatic endemic.

Kinda wondered that myself as I actively override my upbringing. Healing from a high demand religion is a slow process, and I’ve found that new experiences fall into place with time. No need to add pressure till you feel ready to explore further.

Gotta love how fierce these bird parents get. It’s so cool that you had front row seats to their nesting season tho!

Western Bluebirds face constant challenges due to declining habitats and invasive species that overtake their nests, which is why consider it a success when a bluebird is able to drive away birds that attempt to massacre their nestlings.

For today’s #birdweek2026, my favorite Spectacular Seabird is the Killdeer. When they feel their nest is threatened, they put on their signature broken wing display in efforts to lure away any lingering predators.

It’s #birdartweek2026 with Cornell Birds! Cedar Waxwings look like something out of a fantasy book, which is why I picked them as my “whimsy” bird. I’ll miss these guys when they leave us for spring.

I’m grateful to those who were patient and kind during my harder times, whether they were aware or not. Having a loving partner and incredible support system made all the difference.

This year sucked. It’s been pure survival mode, with a lot of rebuilding - a new career, health, and community, and more - and I can only hope it’ll yield a better year.

Here’s to hoping 🤞

Oh my goodness you’re absolutely killing it!!

The "Frieren angle" thing, apart from just being delightful, also completely demolishes the pathetic "AI is democratising art" argument. Someone struggling with a difficult drawing received advice from hundreds of strangers who just wanted to help them improve their art.

Be extra kind to yourselves.
A lot of artists, including myself, are struggling.
It's not because we are failing; the system is failing us. A system that doesn't care about us. So we rely on those around us for support and kindness.
Keep your head up. We are doing our best ♡
