Love how they say it’s ‘particularly helpful in situations where accuracy & reliability are important’…. As if that isn’t “always”

I love it! & I love the others ideas of using the term “edgy” & a mirror! May steal 😂
Just assigned The Librarians documentary to my grad class as required viewing. They need to know what they’re getting into & the film is a wonderful (though somewhat triggering for many of us - or me at least) introduction to the reality of the modern censorship crisis
Unbeknownst to each other, my partner, and I both ordered an edible arrangements for each other for Valentine’s Day. Though we had ordered them separately and not told each other they were both delivered today by the same delivery person. 😂😂
Were any of these commercials NOT riddled with AI? They are all so soulless & creepy looking. If this keeps up I’m going to stop remembering what real humans actually look like
Oh & now promoting a movie starring a wife beater actor
I’m not into football/sports, but I watch the Super Bowl so my partner doesn’t watch it alone & so far it’s about what I expected: commercials about alcohol, online betting, and AI
It’s hard for me to see this whole league as offering any kind of overall net positive to the world, if I’m honest.
I bought many extra copies of wuthering heights this year, for the library, because I’m very good at my job & accurately predicted a surge in interest in this book this year
However I did not accurately predict the extent of the interest & all our copies are already checked out lol
But Hurricane Schwartz does & unfortunately he says we’re likely to have more than 6 weeks of winter & almost certainly more snow 😬
Of course!
Oops lol
My cute little Bridgerton inspired book display ❤️
Sigh. Another day, another unsuccessful hunt for recent YA books starring a boy main character in which romance is not a significant plot point for our school library
My kingdom for YA books starring boy main characters dealing with family, academic, & economic pressures! My students want it!
RAIN!!!
A2: I’ve dimmed lights in the space by covering them with those cloth things, I organize the comfy chairs so there are some that are tucked away for solo sitters who need down time, & others in convo groupings for variety, I strive to offer variety of sensory activities & opportunities #TLskychat
A1: it’s often quite informal really. I try to listen to what students say, both to me & what I overhear, & implement changes based on that. When students ask me directly “can you get X” or “can we have y” or can we do Z?” I try to say yes & accommodate that as much as possible #TLskychat
Unfortunately I can’t, I just blew through most of my days thanks to a bad bout of covid, so I only have 2 days left. I feel compelled to save them in case I need them later. Hopefully it will be ok lol
I’m glad you got the second learning day! My school doesn’t do them yet, I’m thinking if we had learning we probably would have gotten one tomorrow. Our roads are pretty bad so I’m dreading going in tomorrow
Ugh we have a 2 hour delay instead of schools closed tomorrow & I just don’t have the energy to go finish shoveling, we did two rounds yesterday & I am physically wrecked. Probably just gonna see if my car can just handle getting over the rest TBH 😂
Cheese Puff is currently #2 in line for the best “watching moms bath” spot, but our senior cat Pandora won’t let her have a turn 😂😂
My new shirt 😉
Can’t wait to see how many episodes I can download onto my iPad today, just in case of power outages lol
I stopped at Home Depot to see if I could get some ice melt, they are of course totally sold out. But then I came home & found the two bags of ice melt I cleverly bought at the end of last winter for literally this exact eventuality!
Good job, past-Kelsey!
I’m stuck in bed the next few days (sick) & bored, looking for suggestions of any mobile games ya’ll play & enjoy. Must be simple 😂
I don’t play any mobile games, so I have no starting point!
You know what’s annoying? When you need to find “It” by Stephen King in the library catalog but you can’t search by the title bcuz 10,000 books have the word “it” in the title so you need to search by the author & then SCROLL THROUGH 70 results until you find “it”
<niche librarian struggle>
You ever just think “damn I’m good at my job?!”
Because I do, pretty often 😂😂 (toot, toot)
That feeling when, as a librarian, you were able to use some creative thinking & approaches to accomplish something for your staff or students is so exhilarating, & I did it 2 diff times this week!!
I have just done the “email the author to request a pdf copy of their article when you don’t otherwise have access” trick, for the first time. Wish me luck 😂
Where I live, in the suburbs, it would be almost impossible for anyone without a car to easily visit the local libraries. There’s also pretty few weekend hours at our PLs. I imagine there must be so many other access barriers I can’t fathom too
Finally decided to watch Derry Girls, and omg it is fecking hilarious 😂😂😂
Same. I think it’s a great film but I do not watch it, it’s too sad for me
