The March update for Nova on Rewind is here! I'm bit early on this, but I just wanted to share it already :D

"New adult" sounds pretty funny... But also kinda icky... But maybe it fits gen Z & Alpha vocabulary 😅

There has definitely been a shift to more censorship on what kids these days read -w- People would be flabbergasted seeing the books we borrowed from each other as kids / early teens.

I've been making a lot of progress this week, yay! :3 And Nova on Rewind has over 140 subscribers on Tapas!! That's so wild!! 🤩🥳

I was ranting about this to my fiancée like it was one of the biggest wrongs in the world and she just noted that it sounds like one of those word things.

I just have a big issue with inconsistency in meaning -w-
She also thought it might be because it's for "sfw" kinda content 🤔

It's just that, I also want to be free to include topics that are not meant for literal kids. That's why I have Seth's for adult comics on the very first pages. It's to directly send a message that this ain't a kid's show...

I'm also just very disturbed because I've been saying my comic is aimed at young adults, thinking that means young *ADULTS* 😭 It's not aimed for 12-year-olds!!!

Not that I mind people under 18 reading it, there's a reason I try to keep my adult-topic references somewhat covered.

And why the fuck would there be "young adult" as description for teens and older kids??? It literally has the world ADULT in it!

In Finnish that category (12-18) would be something like "young people" directly translated.

I'm not a native English speaker and haven't grown up in english speaking culture, so I just learned that a young adult rating in literature is somehow supposed to mean 12-18!??? WTF???

So like... What do you call literature that is actually for young adults???

I don't think I've posted this one? I was doing some practice painting and chose not to finish it, but here's an unfinished practice painting..

Digital painting is still hard, but I like trying it from time to time. Maybe once we move, I'll try traditional painting again 👀

I went to read wikipedia article if any other country does it and it seems some specific places in Canada do too 👀!?

My own overalls are purple..? Red-ish? Tho those ones are too small since I got them when I was 19 ^^' I could have gotten black overalls for my latest degree, but I'm saving that for one day when I might go study my master's somewhere :D

In Finland, college students often wear student overalls to school events. Each school / campus has its own color separation for different degrees. People collect badges to sew on them and so on... There are a lot of rules and traditions I want to share later on.

Thinking of student overalls :3 Implementing them to my story is more complicated than I first thought tho... Gotta come up with sponsors and their logos and stuff... But that's also part of the world-building, so I would't mind putting some time aside to do so :D

At this point, I think it's just a matter of time to be accused of using AI. Tho I've been lucky, my style isn't generally appealing enough for it to be popular with slop generators.

I have my "not writing writing" style I use to draw gibberish that looks like text from afar, and I'm just waiting that one day someone who can't tell it apart from AI smudge will claim it's generated -w-

Anyway, any other artists do that when you don't want to fill text with actual writing?

Seth could also be in health field or something 🤔 But I like him best as an engineer...

I dug out my old character files and my original plan was to have Nova study journalism and Seth study software engineering...

And maybe I'll stick with those? Seth is in engineer field and Nova in the linguistics / humanitarian field.

But I might be missing a few pages from this chapter 🤔

But it means I've gotten pretty far! :3

It's been more than year since I made the layouts for the current pages of Nova on Rewind and it seems I only have 5 haven't started working on left... Gotta do more page layouts soon ^^'

I think I have some wips tho...

I really want to do a DTYS of my characters for my birthday but I worry no-one would join 🤔 I got a thick skin tho... Might be worth the risk lol.

I don't think I'd have any price or choosing a winner, it would be just nice way to celebrate :3 If someone for some reason wants to make my day :D

I'll keep applying for artist grants and working hard on new content! Right now I can't be bothered to be too worried ^^'

This year seems wild, we are moving again, I'm turning 30 and now we have a mission to go abroad to see MHA concert (because I refuse to not go no matter what).

I hope I can also get to a better place financially, but that's conflicting with the other stuff lol.

I really need to put more thought into what my boys are studying... I had some initial idea, but I wanna lock in these details '3'
