It's true that the Tories stuffed NHS institutions with transphobes, but not removing (or sidelining) them was 100% a Labour decision. This latest surge in transphobia (including the Supreme Court decision, which they could have overturned but didn't) is 100% Labour policy and 100% Labour's fault.
If you've watched how NHS England - stuffed, as Kemi Badenoch explicitly told us, with her handpicked transphobes - does trans* healthcare you can't be surprised by this from @erininthemorning.com.
But still, it's an important service to see her lay it all out.
β οΈ PUBLIC HEALTH WARNING: We believe NHS England and DHSC policy on transgender healthcare shows signs of ideological capture by the gender critical movement. Current decisions risk serious harm to trans people and undermine evidence-based care.

So please, if you can, Iβd love to have this thread list pro-Trans everything. Creators, craftspeople, writers, artists, activistsβ¦if you or someone you know deserves some celebrating, bring it the fuck on, okay?
Post links if you can.
Buy stuff if you can.
They hate when people stand up.
It also cemented the wrong questions. Theyβre stuck asking βDo these medicines have an effect that we, cis people, can measure against our extremely cooked and arbitrary scale?β
When the real question is, βDo these people want to change sex?β
what do you do when your desired outcome (banning gender-affirming care) goes against the medical consensus? easy: simply exclude 97% of the relevant medical studies from your review...
EVERYBODY should sit up, take notice, and get shouting about this. Everybody. Yes. You!
Nobody is safe in a country that bans life saving healthcare with no evidence, just because some people dislike a demographic.
What Streeting has done is disgusting and murderous. He should be jailed for this.
This feels like the only way forward at this point. We need to rediscover the principle of "Nothing about us without us".
That we reject ON PRINCIPLE any review that does not have trans leadership and trans accountability steeped in its design.
The cis people who have been put into positions of authority across trans youth healthcare do not have our trust & continue to demonstrate they do not DESERVE our trust.
Trans healthcare needs to be led by trans people, to be accountable to trans communities and trans youth.
Folks who don't believe in the existence of a trans child cannot continue to hold the reins of healthcare policy and governance.
This is where we start.
Yesterday the NHS banned all under 18 prescriptions of HRT for trans young people.
This ban was justified by 10 new studies that largely stated NO EVIDENCE for under 18s HRT exists.
The study underpinning this played one particular trick.
Let's briefly look at how the NHS rigged the game 1/5
The reviews used to justify this excluded nearly 97% of all studies from inclusion in their analysis. This is an absolutely obscene hatchet job by the NHS specifically created to eliminate access to hormones for trans youth.
1/𧡠I am reviewing NHS Englandβs βevidenceβ papers supporting their ban of GHAT for 16- and 17-year-olds.
Itβs hard not to see this as a deliberate and malicious attempt to manipulate the evidence base. Most notably, the scope is restricted to monotherapy or GnRH analogues.
Youβd think in this era of βMPs face increasing dangerβ there would be more outrage at newly elected Green MP Hannah Spencer being assaulted by transphobes but itβs nowhere to be seen on BBC News app even if you search her name
No, but, you see, when Rosie Duffield says that she needs security to attend the Labour conference as a result of her transphobic bigotry, this is a free speech issue. When Hannah Spencer is harassed in the street by transphobes, that is simply them using their free speech. Itβs not complicated.
It is noteworthy how much transphobes have stopped using the claim of βinstitutional captureβ since they finally completed their goals of capturing every institution.
Cis people need to pay attention to the way they communicate this. They freely admit that after all of their research, they came up with zero evidence that HRT was harmful.
Then they banned it anyway, claiming their inability to find a reason is a reason in of itself.
I think what they're really trying to say is "How do I explain that queer people are bad when more and more of the world is saying they're good? How can I claim queer people are base animals when they're walking around openly being regular human beings?"

We've just learned that the person at the MHRA whose letter caused Wes 'I follow the clinical evidence' Streeting to cancel the puberty blockers trial is Professor Jacob George, the GC who enjoyed mocking trans people on his social media account.
Why did Wes Streeting cover up his name?
Congratulations Gillian! Incredibly chuffed for everyone you are going to represent. They're in good hands.
labour are as far right as the bnp were 15 years ago and ppl like @stellacreasy.bsky.social, @nadiawhittomemp.bsky.social, and @labourlewis.bsky.social think it can be saved by writing a column or a couple of letters.
the bnp deal was actually better. think about that.
labour is dead. vote green.
Mindblowing story. The UK met most of the costs of a key propaganda tool used by the Israeli Government to launder its genocide in Gaza - then tried to cover up the fact it had done so.
Female athletes must pay Β£185 to prove their sex Matt Lawton - Chief Sports Correspondent British female track and field athletes are being asked to pay Β£185 for a sex test if they want to compete internationally. World Athletics requires all athletes to take an SRY gene test before competing in the female category at major championships and Diamond League events to guarantee fair competition by excluding trans and DSD (differences of sex development) competitors. Before the World Championships in Tokyo last September, World Athletics gave $100 per test for the thousand or so female athletes needing one. More money will be provided by the international federation for this yearβs World Junior Championships. But British women have been advised by UK Athletics (UKA) to pay for the test themselves, urging them to have the cheek swab, which indicates the presence of a Y chromosome, βas soon as possible to avoid delays around selectionβ. However, some women have complained it is unfair when the test is not required for men. UKA has a hardship fund to pay for the test and will assess requests on a case-by-case basis. But the situation is symptomatic of a national federation already facing financial challenges, made worse by UK Sport cutting its funding for this Olympic cycle. While almost Β£32 million was given to the relatively niche sports that won five medals at last monthβs Winter Olympics, athletics has had its funding cut from Β£22.18 million to Β£20.45 million despite winning ten medals in 2024. It was only last year UKA returned to some form of financial stability, posting a profit of Β£107,588. But it is now facing a big fine after admitting corporate manslaughter over the death of Abdullah Hayayei, who died in 2017 after a metal cage fell on him while he was training for the World Para Athletics Championships in London.
"Feminism" [Times]
British female track and field athletes are being asked to cover the cost of their own Β£185 sex tests if they want to compete internationally. Because curbing trans people's rights to participate in anything subjects everyone to intrusive scrutiny and here, hefty expense. This is not a 'them' issue.
Childβs drawing of Keir Starmer. He looks like a square headed robot in a blue suit, with massive feet.
My sonβs class were drawing Keir Starmer yesterday and the photos on Dojo are HILARIOUS. I kid you not - they ALL drew him with a square head. Wish I could share the others, but hereβs my sonβs depiction of our robot overlord.
If youβre a cis person (like me) but you donβt know who Jesse Singal is, his whole grift relies on exploiting cis ignorance of gender-affirming care cuz he thinks weβre easy marks. Donβt fall for it
Graphic reading: Christine Goodwin Vs The UK, the historically pivotal case you need to understand to fight for Trans+ rights with a picture of the European Court of Human rights, a room with a EU flag carpet and a semi-circle bench, with blue chairs
20 years ago, a landmark decision at the European Court of Human Rights changed the lives of Trans+ people in the UK and Europe.
It was a pivotal moment in Trans+ history βΒ but now its significance is being erased.
Tomorrow, 10K readers will understand why ππ§΅
