The problem is the fat cats and C-Suite at the top of the chain thinking AI is a solution instead of a tool alongside unsustainable efficiency implementation just to make themselves stand out.
Going forward authenticity is going to be key for outlets, which isn't going to happen if this continues.
For me, an investment should be for long-term gain. I get shakeups to make the machine efficient, but zero focus on evergreen helpful content and chasing trends isn't sustainable.
Buying out rivals is one thing, but doing that to destroy respected outlets makes zero sense to me.
One thing I don't get about big publishing houses buying up websites, pushing slop and laying staff off is how short-sighted that strategy really is.
In most cases these people aren't replaced, overall quality takes a dive in the name of quick wins for a quarter before Google strikes it.
Idiots.

It's been 12 months since I've been on here and so much has changed personally.
From coming to terms with being a single Dad to new freelance clients, I feel like I've been to hell and back.
