Iβve got the original SPI version but never got the TSR version. Though I will admit it was fitting for a game that had an F-15 vs dragon scenario to be published by the publisher of D&D

I still have my copy. OMG Iβm actually now thinking about looking at those rules again and seeing if 40 years of reading rules will allow me to crack that energy management concept
You had to mention Air War, John. Now my dreams tonight will be haunted by horrific memories of trying to understand how fadeback deceleration was supposed to work. π€―
The fact that there's still some left means you didn't find it that appealing.
Because if it were good, you would have had much more.
I was part of an Air Force flight crew that had John Cusack as a passenger in 2004.
The first and last quarters of the flight were mundane.
The middle half, which we spent flying repeatedly through Category 5 Hurricane Ivan, was decidedly less so.
These bones have made a joint declaration of their beliefs.
I saw a meme about opera lovers rolling their eyes at people who whine about watching 15 minutes of music in another language.
Having grown up on Looney Tunes, I suddenly found myself picturing a halftime show with _Bugs_ Bunny instead of _Bad_ Bunny.

Johnson is going to be really surprised when he gets to the Pearly Gates and gets pointed to the "Goat" line.
I always say that to be a meteorologist you _definitely_ need a very thick skin.
When I was on the Weather Channel, a guy posted to a message board that I looked like a capybara.
I responded, saying that my parents would be disappointed that all the money they spent on my braces was for naught.
The planes aren't the receivers - they're the QBs :-)
Though the Hurricane Hunters are best known for their work during hurricane season, they also have an important mission in the winter. For the past month they've been dropping instruments in the Pacific, Atlantic, and Gulf to improve computer models and snow forecasts. They'll continue through March
Calling a longtime ally βirrelevantβ is straight from that famous anti-Dale Carnegie book, βHow to Alienate Friends and Piss Off Peopleβ.
To show my agreement with this post, I just gave "Write Like the Wind" by @paulandstorm.bsky.social another play on YouTube.
I remember how restaurant and bar lobbies opposed indoor smoking bans, saying it would kill their business.
Didnβt turn out that way, did it?
They were either clueless or lying.
NCARβs work has greatly improved hurricane forecasting, giving millions of people invaluable time to protect themselves and their loved ones.
And now the Administration wants to throw it all away.
The final straw was apparently when he brought a bottle of Chianti with him to a dinner date. π
I still ponder who invented liquid soap, and why
You live in a desert. Being able to impersonate a camel would be an appropriate stealth technique π
Metric - this is the weigh.
As a left-hander who suffered with right-handed teachers and "erasable" pens in the 70s, I've always firmly believed that cursive is the mind-killer!
Such a fowl expression on your face!
I missed that particular episode.
But I did see the SQL.
Itβs easy to confuse. The weather services across the world convert local air pressures (station pressure) to sea level pressure (SLP) so they all can be compared against a common baseline. But the further you go up in altitude the thinner the air and lower the air pressure gets.
Given she lives at 6000 ft, the local air pressure is likely close to 800 millibars on a daily basis. You are correct that only severe hurricanes go sub-900, but remember thatβs sea level pressure.
Yes, Wilma got down to 882 millibars, just a bit over 20 years ago. While it is possible that Melissa may dip below 900 millibars before reaching Jamaica, Wilma's Atlantic record seems safe from Melissa threatening it.
An Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft released a dropsonde in the northern eyewall of Hurricane Melissa at 26/1915Z, and it showed winds of 150-180mph between roughly 1000 and 3000 feet elevation.
There's lots of areas in Jamaica at those elevations.
Sadly, it still could strengthen further.
I wrote up a TOON one shot for my D&D group back in the 80s. Full of sight gags and bad puns. The plot started with them meeting up at the team base to receive their mission.
Four hours and many inter-team battles later, they still hadn't left the base.
Hilarious, but so many puns were wasted! :-)
You know that person is a _true_ Doppler aficionado if their go to radar app isnβt a mosaic of all the radars but _single site_ Doppler
