A repentant Christian nationalist who left too late. Repairing the damage and helping build a better world for my grandson. I voted for Jimmy Carter b/c he was the candidate most like Jesus, then gave my heart to the GOP, but I’m back to my First Love.

In the same vein:
Two masked ICE agents stand beside a car on a wet road next to a snow-covered lawn area. One agent shoots towards the car’s side window with a handgun. Exhaust smoke bellows from the rear of the car.
A grainy 1942 black and white photo shows a German soldier training his rifle at the head of a woman whose back is turned towards him as she clutches a child in her arms. Her feet are lifted slightly from the ground.
Renee Nicole Good. 37. Mother of a young child. Killed when an incompetent, angry, insecure, armed and masked federal goon sprayed bullets into her head. The President bald-faced lied about Renee. The Secretary of Homeland Security reinforced the lies.
It happened before. 1942, Ivanhorod, Ukraine.

Fair points, all. Well put. Thanks for weighing in. I tend to go with identifiers that reflect both what a character like him uses for self-identification, biographical elements (born, baptized, and educated as a “Catholic”), modified by his clear words and behavior (religious nationalist).
In the MAGA fracas exhibited at the recent Turning Point Amerifest, it’s critical to note that right-wing Catholic Christian nationalist Steve Bannon denounced right-wing Orthodox Jewish influencer Ben Shapiro a “cancer that metastasizes.” Let the implications of that sink in.
In the Indiana legislative chamber, a large screen displays the vote count and member names related to the failure of HB 1032, which attempted to redistrict Democrats out of the state’s congressional delegation.
Indiana rejects Republican gerrymandering and my former allies in the Heritage Foundation says Trump will strip all federal money from the state—including for law enforcement. IOW, Trump is defunding the police (??)!!!
Miami is one of America’s great and iconic cities. Over half its residents are immigrants. Mayor-Elect Eileen Higgins, a faithful Catholic, says this about Trump’s DHS attitudes and actions toward more than half the people she serves: “It’s a sin.” Based on Jesus’ commands, I say, “Amen.” cf Matt 25
We are in a lawless era. Trump and his toadies believe the Supreme Court affirmed he is the law and his will is absolute. Like Bonhoeffer and the Pastors’ Emergency League, religious leaders must now resist, act, and speak. thehill.com/homenews/sen...
“The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.” Tertullian, in his Apologeticus, c. AD 197.
I keep waiting for Donald Trump to claim that if he had been emperor, there wouldn’t have been any martyrs of the church. “That guy, Stephen, would’ve never been killed. Never!”

When my future was threatened here in the U.S. , these precious Jamaican church folk did for me what no one else could—and now they need the help. I’m trying to do what I can for them. Would you join me in donating? Bigger gifts are needed, but every little bit counts! gofund.me/d65b62ea0
Re: SNAP, WIC, Head Start: To the GOP reps and Trump Admin personnel I used to pray and read scripture with, God says, “I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land." (Deuteronomy 15:11) The operative word being “command.” It’s non-negotiable.
Would reporters please be more accurate about what’s happening here? The Trump administration’s stylized “Department of War” is lethally attacking human beings, not “boats.” The objective is not to destroy boats, which could be done at docks, en masse. They are killing people. Unaccountable killing.
Time for a massive, carefully orchestrated relocation strategy to defeat these GOP tricks:

An old faded black and white image of 30-something German pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer, as he stands looking out under a premature receding hairline, in a wrinkled shirt with rolled up sleeves, a belt around his waste, and baggy pants, his left hand clutching a small journal. In the background are the roofs of small, rustic buildings amidst bowed tree branches.
If ever we needed the young, brave, brilliant fascist-resister Dietrich Bonhoeffer, it is now. See what I have to say about him here: www.patreon.com/posts/140004...
It’s agonizing to watch the scenes in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where an LDS congregation was attacked today. God be with the victims, their loved ones, and everyone in that ward and wider community.
Violence is a moral disease. The ultimate answer is not reciprocal state violence, but moral renewal.
Glad you’re here! Please say more.
Image of a person stands on a road that divides in front of him into two opposite directions, while clouds above him form two arrows pointing to the left and right.
Jesus Christ: “Love your enemy.”
Donald Trump: “I hate my opponent.”
The two statements are diametric opposites.
The implications are innumerable and the consequences of each are enormous.
Following Christ leads one away from Trump.
Following Trump leads one away from Christ.
