Ya they (cuz it's not a single person anymore...hasn't been for like 20 years now) haven't been real street artists for a loooong time now...if their work sells for millions I'm not sure they can call themselves street anymore
4) Street art is about expressing yourself on an open platform for the world to see...it's MEANT to be the opposite of the snooty art snobs world! Putting artists on a pedestal while others are seen as lesser is the very thing street art is ment to NOT be ffs!
3) that is why I say "street art isn't meant to be permanent" cuz if it is it Ultimately cultivates a attitude of superiority amongst street artists...that one piece of art is worth more then another cuz it just HAPPENED to be done by the Banksy team...fuck that!
2) because you go over someone else's piece on the street and you MIGHT get some shit from the community, but Banksy you get the police called on you and a fine cuz "it's destroying culture" 🙄 other people accept that their art might be covered, but Banksy is for some reason off limits?! Why
See its not that we will purposely go over someone's art cuz "it's not ment to be Permanent" yo, if someone has taken a lot of time on a piece and (like you said) it has Artistic merritt then it's usually left for a bit...BUT...Banksy doesn't fit into that Category 1)
Fuck Banksy...I come from the city he does (the OG artist...not the Banksy team) and he is nothing more then a tourist amusement...street art isn't meant to stay up, it's meant to be covered by other peeps art!
