"Hellebuyck had a choice. He could have used his platform to send a quiet but powerful msg that democracy matters more than personal accolades. Instead, he chose the ceremony, the applause and the embrace of a president who is doing measurable harm to democratic norms at home & to allies abroad."
I’m sorry, but do Craig Button and Kevin Sawyer want the #NHLJets to tank with their comments on signing Stanley long term and not trading Schenn?! I am honestly baffled.
You'd be forgiven for thinking @usahockey.bsky.social’s recent Instagram post congratulating the men's team for their gold medal win at the #Olympics is, in fact, a post about the women's team. www.cbc.ca/news/world/u...
Here are some things that could happen to push back against this culture: Hockey leadership could push back and rebuke this behavior. The men could decide not to go to the White House. Parents could use this as a teaching moment. And we could all support women’s hockey and women athletes even more.
New coworker: You sure know a lot about hockey!
Me: Thank you. My work here is done.
Thank you, Marner. I’m exhausted.
