WELL, fast forward to me reading "A Study of Pupfish, Margaritas, and Mermaids" by Rosemarie Dillon where within the first little bit the MC wears hearing aids due to being born with only 40% hearing who's down to 10%ish wears hearing aids and hates her voice. I feel so seen.
a record. Couple this with auditory processing disorder and there's times everything sounds like the adults from charlie brown. I am lucky that I have hearing aids. For years I have been extremely self conscious of my hearing due to people's frustrations about it. 3/4
As the years have gone by it's down to around 15-20% at this point. The nerves in my ears never finished developing which leads my brain auto completing the sounds to make it sound like what everyone else would hear but one audiologist described it like "someone lifting the needle on and off
So I've gushed about the Pull Of The Tide anthology of sapphic short stories a bit, and while I'm not quite done with it I think I found my personal favorite short story ever possibly. I've never felt so seen in a story. For those that don't know I was born with around 30-40% hearing. 1/???
I love the sheer amount of times me and my besties send each other shit and it's "OMG YES I LOVE THAT MEME" "OH YES THATS SO HOT" ect ect ect but what isn't talked about enough is the times I see something and go "Oh I should send that to _" only to realize they shared it LOL.

Whelp I did it, I did the thing and now I'm absolutely terrified. I got my short back from the editor for the final revision, and I've sent it off to the publisher and I've never been more nervous. It's just now sinking in that "I did the thing, I did it." Imposter syndrome is sinking in now @_@
So writers of bsky, I finished my first revision a couple days ago, made my changes, printed it again thinking "Oh there can't be to much more to change still" and I think my 2nd revision is getting more notations than my first..... is this normal? I'm sending it to an editor after this pass or next
That will be a jacket blurb if I ever do expand this short like I'm thinking of down the road.
Also I let my mom read my fully finished rough draft of my queer werewolf romance story....... She complained it was too short and that she wanted more of them. She wants a novel of this. I did it chat, I got my mom addicted to lesbian werewolves. MY MOTHER, THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST. "They're so cute!"

I decided to wrap things up with something a little bit more monochrome.
Whelp finished my first revision going in for another pass and seeing how much still needs to be cleaned up later today, then I'm shooting it off to the editor @_@ I'm so fucking nervous and excited.
I also casually cranked out 1.4k words of this today....
Y'all, this started out as a "short 3-3.5k project to get back into the saddle again"............... this is the first draft with quite a bit more to flesh out on revision 1, let alone 2 and 3......
