The signal is getting harder to ignore.
A strong to very strong El NiΓ±o could be in the works by the end of the summer.
Been a pleasure working with Esther! Good luck in Boston!
Hello! Are you still doing measurements?
Also, I worried a bit writing this definitely about no rain in CA for the first half of March. But trustworthy guidance backs it up.
Sure, it's ridiculously hot in the southwest right now. But apparently, relief is coming next week.
Warm everywhere you look in the Bay Area today. 70s and 80s for all! A bit muggy as well. @sfchronicle.com
Wow. Quite the hot day in California. 91ΒΊ in LA and 96ΒΊ in Anaheim! And oh yeah, 101ΒΊ in Riverside county, which is the hottest February temperature ever for the state.
No need to carry any layers today!
Going to be a warm one today in SF!

Summer is coming. Laredo Texas with the first 100 degree reading for the country this year.
Europe is baking again. #whiplash
Surprise! San Francisco hit 70 degrees today. Second 70 degree reading of the year.
On that second point.
The rain has finally arrived. Showers through about midnight. Totals will be pretty light.
And then, who knows when it rains again?π
- Pressure drop: 41 hPa in 24h

From my uncle on Chatham βConditions were awful. Worst storm weβve had here. Worse than Hurricane Bobβ
Tricky day here in SF! We will make a run at 70
Some epic numbers
#BOX issues Record Event Report (RER) at Feb 23, 7:00 PM EST ...RECORD SNOWSTORM FOR PROVIDENCE RI... Link
38 inches in Providence! Demolishes their previous storm record by over 10 inches
Wow. Some initial numbers coming in. Clearly this will be a tale of two storms. Case in point:
Boston: 14".
Warwick, RI: 36"+
60 miles between those two spots. The gradient between Boston and the South Shore is steep.
Wow! Officially the biggest snowstorm in RI history. Providence will make a run at 40 inches
This one is a keeper

6 hour loop ending at 9:50 est.
One of the more impressive snow bands that Iβve ever seen for a New England blizzard!
We have reached bombogenesis with this nor'easter. The central pressure for this nor'easter sits at 972 millibars, dropping 26 millibars within 12 hours, and 37 millibars in about 20 hours.
You can see the resemblance of an eye!

Pretty cool π
A map with lots of isobars and a center of 974mb south of Cape Cod
Northeast blizzard down to 974 mb per the 12z SPC analysis. Down over 25 mb since early yesterday afternoon. Bombs away.
Historical storms on one coast have a way of spawning historical storms on the other coast if things line up correctly. That's what we've got here.
California's historic (and deadly) storm is about to become a historic east coast blizzard.
I feel for you on this one Ian
