#PlayDirty is #ShaneBlack's weakest film despite many of his hard-boiled trademarks (Crime/Christmas/Dark Humor) raging in fun effect. #28YearsLater is a strikingly ambitious yet flawed sequel, building a bold direction in the iconography of the "infected" apocalypse. Vast cinematography, shifty tonality/editing, & sturdy performances make this a worthy continuation primed for the next chapter with #TheBoneTemple. #2025catchup.
Even with a solid concept, slick action, #CharlizeTheron, #KikiLayne, #UmaThurman & company giving it sizeable emotional depth, #OldGuard2 FUMBLES completely on being a competent sequel that gives everyone's effort justice. Maybe part 3 will fix this, IF #Netflix follows through. #2025catchup.

Grimacingly violent, jolty, & funny, #Novacaine works as an action/comedy & semi-examination on how dangerous it is to feel zero pain, whether living a normal life or risking it all to save the woman you love.
