Some video of the same. Eclipse behind the Zakim Bridge wires in Boston.
Oh I see. You wanted to shoot _from_ the Russell. Right.
I wonder if Lo Presti or Lewis Wharf in East Boston might have worked? I had no way of getting over to East Boston that early.
But, yeah, I had to shoot at 200mm because I was so "close" to the bridge.
Some eclipse photos from this morning. Puopolo Field in the North End looking towards the Zakim and Bill Russell Bridges.

Trash pickup is: CANCELLED
No one told the North End.
What's this going to look like a week from now after 24" of snow tonight?
The greenway ferris wheel as seen from Long Wharf tomorrow... probably.

No water on Hull St. assuming that’s related.
Some glamour shots of the winter flowers I've been growing in my basement.

Juvenile (second year?) Herring Gull in the water looking miserable.
Awkward teen on a rainy day.
series of nine photos of a pine warbler. In the first seven, the bird is facing the camera but is badly out of focus. For the last two, the bird is in perfect crisp focus, but is facing away from the camera.
I really got that focus locked in for the 8th and 9th shots of this rare winter Pine Warbler series 🤦
Some that are already cut ...and the lab ❄️💡🌸🧪

No waterbirds at Chestnut Hill today. But got some good looks at a Golden-crowned Kinglet, Downy Woodpecker, and White-breasted Nuthatch.
Starling cosplaying as a Purple Sandpiper today on the ricks at CC Park in the North End.
Just saw this on @universalhub.com's 2025 wildlife recap. 💙
For the record, I'm pretty sure that's a Great Blue Heron on the right and a Snowy Egret on the left. Both are mature.
Petersons is still best at at least one thing:
CONFUSING FALL WARBLERS, etc
A friend of mine said of this picture:
“If that bird could talk, even it wouldn’t be able to tell you”
(Also: the actual species I think it is isn’t even on that page)
Saw an Orange-crowned Warbler AND a Tennessee Warbler today in the pine trees behind the Eliot Upper School/tennis courts - next to the bridge. Tennessee Warblers are only reported in 0.1% of November Suffolk County checklists!
Bonus White-throated Sparrow.

Happy Veterans Day everyone. Today was my 25th as a veteran, and it started with an auspicious sighting of an Ovenbird which made the state-wide rare bird alert. ☺️

And possible a slightly better "final" image.
Here's a time-lapse of all the "light" images with the comet circled.
Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) is now receding and growing dimmer each night. I thought I'd try to capture it from the North End tonight before it disappears for 1,350 years. You could get MUCH better results from dark skies, but it's kind of fun to see that you can capture stuff like this from the city with minimal equipment. 1. In the background image, can just barely make out the comet. 2. That part of the same image blown up 3. The result after finding the comet, switching lenses, and stacking ~1500 2.5-second images representing about an hour of total exposure.
The result of stacking ~1500 2.50-second exposures. I used an Olympus micro 4/3 body and the Voigtlaender 42.5 mm / 1:0.95 Nokton lens.
