The detailed legendarium and histories of Arda from before the One Ring was forged.

Autumn was always the Tolkien season for me. September especially, as it is a month when the Silmarillion was first published (1977) and the Hobbit was first published (1937).
It is also a month when we remember Professor's death - 2nd of September.

Today is World Calligraphy Day, and hopefully you know that #Tolkien was an accomplished calligrapher. He used different styles of handwriting and alphabets to create depth in his stories. Not just an author, poet and scholar, but an artist, too!

I went to a secondhand bookshop, as One does sometimes, for a book about Terry Pratchett. I did buy the book I wanted, but I also bought couple of books I did not anticipate. I think I got quite a bargain.
Of course these are Polish versions - now I need to get them in original.

So, we got back (couple of hours ago). Nothing bad, just blocked tear duct. Got some jabs for inflammation, and they took a swab of her eyelids to check for any bad thingies.
Green/orange eyes are a result of eye drops that turn neon green under UV light and oxygen.

It was this day, 71 years ago on Thursday, 29th of July 1954 that the Fellowship of the Ring was first published.
First time I read this book I was 10 years old, I think. From that moment it stayed with me permanently.
