(They do eventually bond again. At the cottage maybe. Or maybe further in the future. But its hard and they have to coax it. And for a bit they think they've ruined any chance at it.)

Hollinov DO bond the first time they fuck. But they breal it bc Shane is AFRAID and they botb refuse to admit they feel anything. And they can't stop fucking but its kinda awful bc they can't let themselves feel anything.

2) Bond Crisis (fuck or die)
Probably when Shane is injured. But sometime before they are really together, Shane or Ilya goes into their Bond Crisis and has the other dude on their List. DRAMA.

(I lean toward this one. It has hilarious WTF energy for everyone NOT hollinov, & alsp failboats)

But back to the hollinov fic. My thoughts so far:
- shane has super good shields
- ilya is enough of a playboy that even though his shields aren't AS good, Shane doesn't trust what he reads from him
- therefore: still failboats who can't communicate & fail to understand themselves>>

I will say. Sidebar, that fic with both Sid & Shane in it is like crack to me. And I think it could work if Shane & Ilya are hailed as the "next sid & ovi" type deal.

Also, like you said, hollinov reaaaaally doesn't work with that specific vibe.

1) I was definitely just thinking hollinov with that worldbuilding. The psychic/empathy, bonding, & "bond crisis fuck or die" stuff

(Not that I wouldn't want to make oblique references to Sid/Jags, but the author doesn't want fic of their fic (last I checked) and I feel okay using the world but>>
