I just woke up this morning grateful that books exist. The feeling led me to update my wishlist on my @libro.fm app. This isn’t an ad for them but I hope more people use their services. After I saw my local bookstore, Cafe Resistance, was listed as one I could help, it made me really happy.

Outside of my own events, I’ve never heard of a fantasy space that celebrates black culture and nerdiness. I literally created what I wanted to see in the world and invited EVERYONE to come join me in this space. If you love diverse spaces/people and want to frolic as a magical being, join me!
I’ve read some black American fairytales I hadn’t heard before this month. I wish there wasn’t so much stigma and suppression of Black American folklore. Sometimes it feels like finding a needle in a haystack. I don’t believe these stories should be forgotten.
Many doctors still believe black women don’t feel as much pain or can endure more pain than others. So the living in their care will also endure unnecessary pain.

I think once those same people actually go to their library themselves they’d be enlightened. More checkouts means more copies purchased. Counts for e-books too!
Sometimes resistance looks like reading books to kids and making “dragon snot” (slime) together.
