And if showed "baby pig".
Much of the animal-based food people eat are essentially babies (relative to natural life of the species).
Combine people don't like to hurt animals with people don't like to hurt babies.

It's very exciting that Journal of Environmental Psychology is now so open to meat-eating studies.
Meat consumption is one of THE leading causes of greenhouse gas emissions.
In fact, it's hard to see how we'll solve climate change without reducing/eliminating meat consumption.
Further evidence that people don't like hurting animals.
Reminding people that the food they might eat are/is animals ==> more avoidance of flesh-based foods.
My fav part is we used actual cafeteria sales to measure behaviour, rather than asking for intentions. #applied

What, do you mean Lisbon, Portugal?
Lagos, Nigeria?

I think I've done multi-factor authentication 5-6 times already this morning.
You'd be forgiven for thinking I work at a nuclear power plant or something.

At the time, however, I felt that Comps ruined my life.
But I'm actually (now) grateful for the serious, truly comprehensive grounding it gave me for my discipline of study.
Sometimes #education is about being required to master things you'd ordinarily not gravitate toward.

After my PhD comprehensive exams (3300 pages of primary source reading, & all abstracts from 3 years of JPSP, PSPB, JESP, for 8-hour written exam plus 1-hour verbal exam)...
I promised myself I'd never feel "bored" again.
And it's worked.
Thanks Comps, for new lease on life.
If I know Brits, they'll love nothing more than a US president chastising Brits for showing up late to a war that is already won.
Thanks.
How about either actual footage or reenactments/demonstrations?

Yesterday I had tons of tabs open and then lost power.
All that information gone.
So today I've decided to work with even more tabs open.
Can't push me around.

The Carney love-in will collapse like the Trudeau love-in did.

Yes, social activities are important. I get it. I'm a social psychologist
But society needs to move past the idea that all people need the same amount of social stimulation
And that's okay. More than okay. People differ on this dimension as they do other dimensions. Variety, baby!

My take:
It's fine for effects to occur under specific conditions.
But most of these theories (e.g., TMT), propose very global, if not universal, effects.
So they're still in weak positions.
I also wonder if this is unique to sexism, as opposed to other prejudices.

However, if you teach Age-Period-Cohort (APC) effects, this could make for great culturally relevant discussions!

We live in bizarre times.

Consider these legal commitments, that show very different priorities:
Canada: βPeace, order, and good governmentβ
US: βLife, liberty, and the pursuit of happinessβ
These represent 2 very different visions of social life and collective commitments.
I must admit, I no longer have conversations with people about whether "Canada is basically the same as the US", culturally etc.
The world now sees that these are 2 very, very different countries, even culturally. Especially culturally.
