The "Magnificent" Therese by The Bodines reviewed "Half breathless, half bewildered vocals chase after an urgently recurring guitar pattern and a long lost sense of something or other"
@mamtoruk.bsky.social what did you make of that?
Still wearing their pajamas?
Went through a 6 month period '84/'85 following the Cult around. These guys were always support. They were great. Not sure about their dress sense though, it looked like they were wearing their pajamas! π
One of my favourite things I've done is create a 44-page fanzine about nothing but Heavenly @heavenlyamelia.bsky.social @skepwax.bsky.social - full of interviews, fact files, problem pages, recipes and all sorts of silliness from the band, including Mathew. Fortunately, the band love it, too - phew!

My son went to the 103rd for 3 years. Great bunch. James still leading the scouts?

Wannabe gangsters (on the cheap)
The Grey Trouser Brigade. π
Wish I'd seen them more. Did see them once more, walking towards us on a street in Barcelona. Found out later that day they'd played Barcelona the night before which was the day we arrived for our wee holiday. Gutted!
What was the name of your brother's band? Just checked our gig archive, we played Star and Stripes 11.09.87 and support was Flour.
Saw them in Dundee end of '86. Took photos, I'll dig them out.
Edinburgh gig was Friday 9th May '86
That's what I was thinking. Could've been a day apart.
We'd seen you support them 5 or 6 times around that time, knew all your songs and most of your lyrics! They were, for me, the best Smiths gigs!!
Pics I took of them in may '86 at Hoochie Coochie Club Edinburgh. They were brilliant!
They were a bit intense from what I remember.
Everything Breaks is one of my favourite Woodentops tunes! π―
Saw them supporting X Mal Deutschland in '84. Never bought any of their records so couldn't have been impressed! π
What a tune! It's like something Weatherall mixed!!
Saw them in Edinburgh supporting the Banshees in'82. That much I can remember. π€
This is the setlist I swiped the night before at Dundee University.

How big is your wishlist?
Kick Ass Kit!!
A function room in a hotel.
You look like you were up against the barrier to get pics that close. Here's some I took a very long time ago, 2ft high stage, no barrier.
