I can finally share this illustration of Gwendolin, which I painted last year for the cover of @federschrieb.bsky.social’s upcoming book, releasing in June!
Since the cover reveal was yesterday, I’m now officially allowed to show the artwork too.

In this version, her colony was attacked by space pirates as a child, leaving her the only survivor, and barely so. She was picked up by a sect of turians who rescued her and raised her. (continued)

I'm pretty sure it's a unique form of cruelty to make a machine that can feel heartache and grief, and then try to give her the ability to cry, too.

Do you have any luck with heat or cold? My wife gets chronic migraines and we have like four freezable headbands for her, they help! And I get neck pain, so heat helps me.
(now imagining wearing an icepack and a heating pad, must be a really weird sensation!)

An interpretation of the Arthurian legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, in which the knight is seduced by both Lord and Lady Bertilak. Here we see the knight in between the couple, head tilted back, eyes closed, as Lord Bertilak wraps a large hand around his neck and presses in close from behind. Lady Bertilak is pulling off his green belt with one hand, and reaching below to undo the lacing on his pants with another. The knight’s visible hand squeezes Lady Bertilak’s thigh tightly.
