Shoe money or crypto, the classic investment question.
And I have driven between LA and San Jose; I have a sense of that distance.
The interesting thing about this map is that despite what it's attempting to show, this shows that California is actually slightly smaller than I imagine it being. It's still big, but this makes it seem much cozier.
A college roommate had a sticker that said "I'm not part of an organized religion; I'm a Quaker."
And Farscape and Hitchhiker's Guide both solved it at the very beginning with "Here, put this thing in your head."
It's just odd since the language barrier was a plot point in the original Stargate movie.
Oh, it didn't stop us from still watching.
(And she was the same one who said "Don't ask that question" when I wondered why all the aliens in Stargate SG-1 speak English.)

Well, that I can't speak to. It's possible my coworker was just being flippant.
I have said that Doctor Zhivago is like a three year old telling a story, because things just happen one after another with little connection.
I was told that's how Russian literature works.

As a tail-end GenXer, most of my theories about them stem from pure demographics: there are simply fewer Xers than any other age group, and they have seldom been the focus or the driver of pop culture. Maybe they tend to cling to the few signifiers they have.
High tops AND chairs/stools that have no place to support your feet.
I could be wrong, but my understanding is that Paramount's planned TV network basically fell through at the same time that Star Wars hit, so Phase II might not have even made it to TV.
