Impressive for a small island.
A male Siskin feeding on Alder cones along the River Dearne at Wilthorpe, Barnsley yesterday. Probable migrant, although they breed nearby on the edge of the Pennines. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirding #nature #siskin
One yesterday in Mapplewell was my first for the year.
This morning 2 Russian White-fronted Geese in amongst c100 Grey-lag Geese in a field north of Ingbirchworth Res. #barnsleybirds

Having moved house this year I had the same problem and about 80% went to recycle. Also my British Birds and British Wildlife but past issues of these can be accessed via their archives.
Summer gone. #photography #autumn
Get well John ๐
Are Whooper Swans also dying in Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ or picking up the virus when they get here Kane?
Not all of the leaves have blown off yet. Nice colours beside the River Don at Deepcar. #autumn #landscapeimages #uknature #yorkshire
Fly agaric Amanita mascara in the local woodland. Usually found under Silver Birch toxic to humans but eaten by some animals. This has survived so far. #fungi
Wow.
Woodland birds John.
Great times. ๐
Thatโs a fair old haul and a great mix of species.
Osprey flew south over the house at Mapplewell at 1825. New bird for the house list. ๐
Strange movement John. A new bird for Tiree?
Thatโs a great capture Peter. ๐ฎ
Mapplewell this morning. Great White Egret over the house and a Hobby chasing 3 Swift in last 15 minutes. #birds #barnsley #yorkshirebirding

Tree shut down several weeks earlier this year due to the drought. It happened a few years ago when we had really hot weather. #trees #climate #drought #yorkshire
Brilliant John. I came home too early. ๐
Unseasonably hot weather up here on Tiree. Beaches not too busy with humans but a scattering of wader from Greenland ๐ฌ๐ฑ and Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ on the move south. #birds #migration
Well captured and a great image Peter. Surely worth entering this in some photography competition.
Oban sunset last night before heading out to Tiree today.
Nice plumages bird John. We are coming to Tiree this Saturday for the week so hope to catch up and perhaps something new in?
Juvenile Black Redstart on roof near Longwall Close, Mapplewell, Barnsley at 0835 then flew towards Mapplewell Coop. Nice one for the house list. ๐
My favourite bird song and can be heard by just about everyone in the UK.
