Locations that have seen as much snow as Providence on Monday
I checked the historical record to find places in the Northeast that have seen 35.5 inches or greater snowfall in one day like Providence did on Monday. Finding: very few.

Maybe more impressive is that 30.4" fell between midnight and 1 pm, nearly 2.5 inches per hour. That will be investigated as a new potential state 24 hour snowfall record for Rhode Island (previous 30" at Woonsocket 1978)
This snow band is an all-timer, likely producing a foot of snow in just 3-4 hrs.
Supported by incredible lift w/in the ascending branch of the frontogenetic circulation, it follows that this band won’t weaken but will contract. Whoever remains in that contraction will likely see 3+‘ of snowfall.
Official observation is 32.8 inches and still snowing heavily! 3 feet well within possibility. Smashing records from one of the most famous blizzards of all time is impressive.
Completely unofficial, but PVD now reporting 4 inches in the last hour (after 3 inches the hour before) and 37 inches on the ground. A change of 32 inches in this storm. AT LEAST that much snow has to have fallen, meaning this storm has supplanted the blizzard of '78 at Providence.
Remark section of the Providence, RI METAR has SNINCR 2/30. Meaning 2 inches in the last hour, and 30 inches on the ground. They had 5 inches on the ground at 7 pm last night so that's AT LEAST 25 inches from this storm - good enough to slide into the top 2 (#1 is '78). Official ob coming at 1 pm.
