In an Irish Atlantic rainforest, a 'wolf' oak: the term for a tree much older than those all around.
A grandmother tree, progenitor and nurturer of the ecosystem, she very possibly grew when – even because – wolves still hunted these parts.
A nice twist on the word.

The central focus is the intricate, twisted structure of the dead tree stump. The wood is grey and textured, heavily adorned with patches of green moss and light green/grey lichen. Its shape is abstract, forming natural loops and curves, with a distinct opening visible in the upper portion.The stump is situated on a forest floor covered in green ground vegetation and brown leaf litter. In the background, numerous thin, bare-trunked trees (birch and pine) extend vertically, creating a dense forest backdrop.
I fell in love with a tree stump.
A quite curious stump was he.
No branches to thump.
No autumnal leaves to see.
But a very special stump was he.
There in the woods, other trees grew tall.
But one special tree stump won my awe. 💚
