Currently washing down current events and news with a large dose of reading fantasy books bc I require escapism. But at least I should meet my reading goal with no trouble

Very pleased with how my decorating is coming along even though I can’t put ornaments on the bottom 3.5 feet of the tree due to toddler and cat shenanigans

I joined a new local book club for romance books, which I read a lot of, and the first meeting is this week and I really disliked the first book but like. How do I make friends with these people without pretending to like a shitty book? 😅

Only 10 out of my top 100 songs for the year were by men. And honestly it should have only been 9, one of those should not have been there.

I see a lot of parents talk about how their Spotify wrapped is heavily influenced by their toddlers, and so is mine. But not how you’d think. These are in fact 5 of my 2yo sons favorite songs 😅🤷🏻‍♀️

Even in a 1 story home with 2 adults and 1 toddler I feel like as soon as I get through all the different loads, and get everything back where it goes, one category is dirty again.

I think if I were to design a dream home with no real budget cap, I would have like 3 sets of washing machines so that I could maybe catch up on laundry before it all gets dirty again

All I wanted at the end of this shit day was a hot bath to relax and feel like a not depressed human. Naturally since my husband and son have both already showered this evening there is no more hot water. Straw that broke the camels back

I finally got my toddler calm after a 40 minute tantrum (and I have no idea what triggered it or what the problem was) and now I’m afraid to move and set him off again

Forgot that 2 is the threshold for masking sick kids at the doctor and that went…..not well. Thankfully the nurses were super sweet about it bc he’s a fresh 2 and so it wasn’t a big deal that he won’t wear it

I take my toddler to his well child visits by myself usually and it’s just fine, but today I have to take him to his very first sick visit and somehow that feels like one I really don’t want to do alone

Not me placing a bulk order of cold medicines and preventatives with overnight shipping for the whole family bc my toddler woke up streaming green snot

My husband just texted me that his milk tasted funny this morning and now he feels bad. I panic and check the milk. It smells and tastes fine and is well in date. Then he informs me the bad feeling is a stuffy nose and sore throat. Which clearly came from our sick 2 year old, not food poisoning 🙄🙄

I had zero problems with not living in a big city until I had a toddler. I hate that we are 2 hours from the closest aquarium, kids museum, etc. and like 3+ from the nearest zoo. There is one indoor play place and it’s very small. I just wanna go fun places without spending all day in the car!

My toddler is singing along to The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived and his baby voice saying “who the fuck was that guy” may be the funniest shit ever

Honestly butter between the skin and then brushing a ton of butter on top was all I did. That and shoving some lemons apples and onions inside the cavity. Turned out pretty good 🤷🏻‍♀️ wasn’t dry

Just make sure to take the turkey out of the freezer to thaw in the fridge early enough. It needs 24 hours per 5 pounds, and if you’re doing any kind of brine on it that needs an additional 1-2 days. Most people say take it out of the freezer the weekend before

Migrated all my goodreads data to StoryGraph and I like it so much better for a million reasons but one tiny change in wording of my reading goal progress is like actually huge and motivating (screenshots a week apart. I’ve been binging a little to catch up)

My kitchen is a disaster too. Thankfully my husband is kind enough to be on dish duty

We had a lovely meal, I made 7 different freezer meals, put slices of turkey in the fridge for sandwiches, and still have a container of chopped turkey to turn into BBQ pizza tomorrow night. Very exhausted. But my budget is thrilled

😂😂 I’m a crazy person who is going to her parents for the actual holiday but couldn’t resist the sale on turkeys so I bought one and made the meal today bc T was home to be on parent duty and I spent the whole day freezer meal prepping with leftovers

No turning back now 🤷🏻‍♀️

I swear my husband truly thinks if he isn’t at the mechanic when it opens to get an oil change then he either won’t be able to get it or some natural disaster will occur. 🙄
