Here's a downloadable link to the 60 MINUTES piece that Trump's enablers at Paramount's CBS refused to air.

Share it far and wide.

Thanks @jasonparis.bsky.social for posting. #60Minutes

A WILD ONE: A man broke his leg during an arrest by ICE at a car wash south of L.A.

ICE has held him under 24/7 guard at a hospital, registering him under a pseudonym, for *37 days* without telling him why.

A judge has ordered his immediate release.

Despicable. We all need to wake up to the unconstitutional actions, dishonor, and cruelty.

In other words, straight up racism, no chaser. Can we truly smell the stench of what our government is cooking?

🚨NEW: For the first time in history, the single largest group of people arrested in the interior and sent to ICE detention is people with NO criminal record.

As of yesterday's data release, 40%(!) of those arrested in the interior and detained by ICE had no prior conviction or pending charges.

Yes and I would also note most of those same complaining Christians don’t realize the extent to which they and their ancestors built and designed the very culture they complain about. It didn’t drop from the sky. Wanna complain to the manager? To a certain extent they need to look in the mirror.

I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

Sinclair & the Growing Reach of Conservative Media | On the Media | WNYC Studios If Sinclair Broadcast Group buys Tribune, it will become the largest TV broadcasting company in the country. Will the company use its access to spread a right-wing message?

Sinclair has been gobbling up network affiliates and red-pilling their trusted local newscasts for years (see 2017 OTM story below).

Worse, it was under the radar. Most viewers had no idea they were being brainwashed, or even who Sinclair was before the Kimmel mess...

Maybe they will NOW. 🤞

Thanks for the suggestion. My toddler will rake me over the coals for this but I really can’t abide supporting a company willing to toss free speech to the wind.

Where the knowledge economy goes, so goes democracy.

Wild how we have structural collapse in multiple knowledge economy sectors at the same time. Journalists and academics are stuck in institutions that force them to compromise on ethics and there are no exit options, much less open jobs in lateral fields

As a DC resident I feel like I should say:

This is a complete and utter lie.

My kid, under age 12, walked to school last year into an area close to downtown.
Telling the truth is an important thing.

This is serious, rigorous analysis and it should change the way the media has been covering these protests. These were, in the aggregate, *massive.*

ICE releases health worker arrested at airport despite living in the U.S. legally for 50 years Lewelyn Dixon had been arrested at the Seattle airport after a trip to her native Philippines in late February. She was released from ICE custody after three months.

One more for the "WTF" quota...

This lady has been legally in the U.S. for 50 years. She was detained by ICE in *February* when coming home from a trip to the Philippines and only just released last week.

"It was horrific; it was awful, it is crowded—super crowded."

There are two questions everyone should start asking candidates:

1. Are you committed to rolling back changes the Trump administration made? Will you commit in writing to an itemized list of them?
2. Are you committed to reforming institutions that allowed this to happen? Which & how specifically?

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

I will buy a product that advertises it’s AI free.

No one’s washing machine needs AI.

Large Language Models (LLMs) are not thinking - they are word associations and reductive.

The cost is real though: each AI search uses a pint of fresh water to cool their servers.

Opinion | America Is Pushing Its Workers Into Homelessness The working homeless are casualties of our prosperity.

America's workers are not "falling" into homelessness.

They're being pushed.
