Late night before bed thought, but I wish Sakura-con had video streaming rooms again. I think the death of those is what really lowered my opinion of the con before the mediocre experience I had last year.

I'm glad that I broke out of scheduled blog posts. I have been doing some writing here and there so there will be more in the future, but music has been taking up a lot of my life.

From my own gigs and going to performances, it's been busy. I've also been practicing even more too. I'm happy. 😁

I think this season has a lot of great anime, but Journal with Witch is such a door breaking stand out.

It has an much heart and emotional intelligence with the fantastic direction carrying both of those already great aspects even further. It's simply incredible.

This makes me happy.

Maybe I should like into tickets for one as well as a ballet in the future.

Alongside all meeting together for nerdy good times at ECCC, there are also some other important things that need to be addressed.

Yeah. It was nice going when I was skipping class in college a long time ago because it was my first convention. After going to quite a few of them, I can definitely feel a lot of the frayed edges.

It's interesting to return to Last Exile after watching so much older anime shows.

I was stunned by how Captain Harlock energy just leaks out of the show.

It's also fandom things in general. I do watch a lot of anime, but I also read and watch sci fi and fantasy books and TV shows.

It's awesome to go to a panel of an author I'm reading the work of then to a panel of Apothecary Dairies voice actors. That was my ECCC 2026 experience.

Sakuracon feels like it's held together by spit and duct tape. Plus, it also skews younger. I watch a lot of seasonal anime so that's fine, but I do think hoyoverse gacha games are pushing me out a bit. Especially since I don't play those games and there is more presence every year.

I was at Emerald City Comic-con this weekend and I think it's my go to big convention for now on. It's not perfect, but it's run really well compared what Sakuracon is usually like.

Also, it's a bit of an age out and fandom kind of thing too. (1/?)

This seeing hand pisses me off.

Zeztz was crazy good this week. Love it when they give Riders beefcake forms. Especially when they work really hard on making the sound design intimidating for it, very good work there.
