There's different "flavors" of Superman to fit all diets.

The genre itself is inherently open to goofiness and comic relief so I don't blame any writer who chooses to take it that way. There's the seriousness of "Batman: the Animated Series" and the absurd comedy of "Harley Quinn", the animated series. I can pick/choose the tone of the stories.

We're talking about movies about people who are bulletproof and/or dress up like bats to fight crime.

I think people who go to these movies will generally accept and expect certain levels of goofiness and absurdity.

As a lifelong comic book/superhero fan, I know I do.
