@scientistmel.bsky.social Hi, Mel. Here's a little something that should interest you and many others, and not in a fun way. 🕵♂️😬 Can you spot the camera in this image? 👁📹 If no, then read on:

The world is getting creepier. Yes, they’re in the frames at the top to the left.
THE US GOVERNMENT HAS ARRESTED HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE, AND ATTEMPTED TO DEPORT SOME, WHO WERE BRAVE ENOUGH TO PROTEST THIS GENOCIDE WHILE YOU SAT AT HOME SUCKING YOUR OWN DICK.
I just had a 90 minute deep tissue massage. Good Lord I feel great. People don’t really discuss the physical symptoms of grief. This has certainly helped mine.
The GOP lost their minds over a single mom getting a couple hundred dollars a month for groceries. Now we’re blowing up billions with no clear objective and they shrug. I never want to hear another lecture about a mom buying her kid a birthday cake while the world’s on fire again
This is the whole point of the AI industry..an Orwellian world of the ever-present, which destroys history, culture, science, literature...so it can manufacture "reality" in the interests of fascists.
Well yeah… if you use it as something other than a glorified search engine … you’re going to spend a lot of time trying to get the AI to do the thing correctly because your prompts aren’t specific enough to the algorithm.
It’s a great way to make more work for yourself
I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.
State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

Thank you for this important reminder. There’s never been a big-screen movie about the women who fought for - and won - American women’s right to vote. Such a pivotal step forward for American democracy, yet Hollywood ignored it. 🤔 Please keep telling the story. Democracy can’t be taken for granted
Sir Anthony Hopkins. The big boss of our golden ticket retirement village.
We are still dealing with 40% of police force families being subjected to domestic violence. The police take care of their own, even if they are monsters to their own families.
WTF!? It took THAT long for women to have protection against domestic abuse!?
It is honestly surprising how recent a lot of these things have come to be. Like black women only getting the right to vote in the 60s is outright insane. Women owning houses and businesses, like holy fuck.
This whole system also ties into the fact that women did not have legal protection against domestic violence until 1994. I was 19 years old.
Police officers still get away with beating and sexually assaulting their own family

Strong reminder that 40% of police force families experience domestic violence. You can’t reform a system that legally protects violence.
It has to be completely dismantled and rebuilt.

"In place of a Dark Lord you would have a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Dawn! Treacherous as the Sea! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love me and despair!"
A dramatic image with bold text about Idaho House Committee's passage of a social transition ban, set against a grayscale domed ceiling background. Transcribed Text: BREAKING Idaho House Committee Passes Extreme Social Transition Ban HB 822 is alarming government overreach that would allow Idaho politicians to decide how youth dress and act.
BREAKING: An Idaho House Committee passed HB 822. This dangerous and unconstitutional bill would require trusted adults, such as teachers and counselors, to monitor children for signs that they are not conforming to gender stereotypes. Learn more about the bill: buff.ly/7kw0CXu

Mood…
I remember my mom talking about how she could open a checking account without my dad (post divorce) and how excited she was.
It’s no surprise that it took until 1988 for women to be able get business loans without a male co-signer.
Women need to stand up and push back. This must not regress.
In 1989 my father passed away. My mother suddenly found herself a single mother with three kids in a small apartment. My father’s life insurance allowed her to buy a house but 15 years prior she would not have been able to buy it because of her gender.
This is really recent…
I didn't know I was the same age as LEGAL REPERCUSSIONS FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE.
If you, or one of your loved ones, are one of those people who likes to eat food, you need to read this story.
Because farmers from Poland to Australia to South Dakota are starting to freak out over the insane spike in fertilizer prices.

💯
I know that everyone is saying it, but I want it to be overstated.
It’s been 32 years since women gained legal protection against DOMESTIC ABUSE.
There is a large population of white ladies in the US who are really fucking up stuff. I do think some of them are turning around.
Does this mean since it’s below 50,000 we can finally get back to the Epstein files? Looking at you Pam Bondi.
