Yet another school shouting in Nashville. Yet another attempt to get TN to care about public schools or gun control. Yet another protest led by kids. Must apply for tickets to get into our own Capitol building & can be arrested for bringing an 8.5x11 sheet of paper with words of protest on it.
So many of the amazing people I work with are USDS, a11y specialists, non-binary folks & let me just say that being in civic tech right now is a lot.
Humans really have such a profound ability to care for one another. Now is the time to be a helper.

Hearing real feedback from disabled people about how crucial accessibility (beyond compliance) is for their ability to use digital services has been life changing for me. I’m proud of how seriously we take this at the VA & am grateful for my USDS colleagues who fight for it every day. ✊

Library purchases are purchases. They pay the press. The press counts them towards advances and royalties. And (gasp) the book is in a library!! It’s wonderful and no one should ever feel bad about getting a book through a library instead of buying it.
