To be clear: today's ruling doesn't make it less likely your child is trans, which is the whole objective of the anti-trans movement: fewer trans children by any means. It only makes it far less likely your child has access to lifesaving medical care if they're trans, which has never been a choice.

2024 was a good, though not exceptional, year for film. As always, I am excited about the Academy Awards on Sunday, even though they often disappoint me with their choices. This year, for the first time ever, I actually watched every nominated film in every category.
