ZineMap - Drop Your Zines, Find Your People Explore a global map of the zine universe, track your zines, and discover new places to share your work.

Check out zinemap.com. This international map of zine shops, libraries and events is a stellar resource - lots of community input and some interviews too. Thanks to its creator CJ for telling me about it this morning. Happy to boost this, as it's filled with useful information.

A mini reading list to understand what’s happening in Iran. Today marks the seventh day of the unlawful U.S-Israel war against Iran. Like many a citizen, I’ve been struggling to understand what’s animating this latest burst of imperial violence.…

Brittany Allen recommends books to help you understand what’s happening in Iran.

Rebecca Solnit Says the Left’s Next Hero Is Already Here

β€œOne of the great weaknesses of our era is we get lone superhero movies that suggest that our big problems are solved by muscly guys in spandex, when actually the world mostly gets changed through collective effort, more like caregiving than it is like war.”

In my U.S. Civil Rights Movements class, we spend a lot of time thinking about historical memory. When movements get reduced to a few iconic leaders, the collective labor that made change possible disappears from view. It also obscures an important lesson: collective action is effective & difficult.

Photo from the early 1970s of a man on horseback negotiating the Birmingham inner ring road at Holloway Head

I’m searching for the original and/or rights owner of this fabulous picture of Birmingham in the early 1970s. It popped up on my Instagram feed, but I’ve been unable to track it down.

Any leads? I’m really hoping to use it in a book.

(And would much appreciate a RT please)

Leading in Times of Crisis zine Buy a zine (for you or for your library or bookstore) The good folks at Microcosm Publishing have helped me produce an expanded (but still concise!) edition of Leading in Times of Crisis, available…

seems like as good a time as any to remind folks that my zine about leading teams when things are fucked is up for sale (and I’ll still send you one for free if you fill out the form on this website with a MN address)

I thought I was missing being in a band. But I think I just miss making gig flyers and zines. In high school and college, I played drums in a band as well as designed our flyers and website. That was years ago and I didn't realize how much I missed doing that until now.
