In previous life I supported technology in the largest school system in Maryland, serving more than 160,500 students. I retired early to work full-time on Obama's 2nd campaign, & have kept an eye on Dem politics since.

Bier: "Over the last 30 years, we looked at all the government budgets -- federal, state, and local combined. Immigrants reduce deficits by $14.5 trillion."

Elizabeth Warren: β€œFor the Trump administration to say over & over, there's no money for healthcare – there's no money for childcare – there's no time to pay attention to how families are paying more – but there's a billion dollars a day to go to the Middle East & drop bombs on Iran”

Yes, it took longer than it should have to impeach him because Republicans refused to do their jobs, but Dems did impeach him twice. It was *Republicans* who failed their responsibility to *convict* him. Twice.

Mine have been BANGING on the door to the screen porch. We never got the screens taken down this winter so they don't have to wait until we put them back up. Kitty win!

Yep. And I don't blame Dems for the lack of impeachment, didn't blame them back then. I blame(d) Republicans.

It still is.

When Park Geun-hye, Korea's 1st woman leader, was impeached in 2017, my Korean-born d-i-l asked me why the US, a supposedly more "advanced" democracy, couldn't seem to impeach our obviously unworthy President? It was my shame to have no answer.

It is, but the difference in response, the difference in tone is striking and horrifying. He answered this reporter like the guy had a right to ask. His response to women reporters is just so contemptuous & belittling, w/o answering their questions.

Except if a woman reporter asks a question like that she gets called "Piggy" & berated for being rude, "not nice," asking stupid questions, fake, failing news, the worst, etc. Then she's never called on again.

He had the "cahoots" with Netanyahu, the "cahoots" with Putin, maybe even the "cahoots" with Zhi? to get into this war. Maybe she knows what she's talking about, even if she doesn't know how to talk about it. Maybe, like many of Trump's friends, English isn't her first language. 😏

We had a cat (pre cell phone so no pictures) who was afraid of non-family members. Medieval could be coaxed into the room with them by brandishing the magical comb. He would stare around the corner, then slowly, hesitantly creep up to it. He just. Couldn't. Resist.

We miss him still.

That Dem consultants told Gov. Walz to stop calling them β€œweird” still has me miffed.

Ole Deputy Dawg is pronouncing bluesky - you know, blue sky, sounds just like it's spelled - blooskie! This guy is a Rhodes scholar! What a 🀑

The idea that opposing and rolling back trans rights is good for cis women and girls is ludicrous on every level and absolutely enraging when applied in legislation and policy that obviously limits and rolls backs rights for ALL women and girls

We put panels on our roof and a battery in the basement in '17. The system was supposed to pay for itself in ~17 years. It's already more than paid for itself. We have a large house, & have had consecutive months where our bills are $9-$10.

Coons: "Right now, the clearest winner from this war in Iran is Russia. It's stunning that President Trump is on the phone with Vladimir Putin and spending more time consulting with him than he is with Congress and the American people."

What the fuck is he talking about?!? What demand to impose Sharia Law in America?!? Why is he hallucinating? Is he on crack? Did Musk slip him some ketamine?

Leaders of both parties should be calling for Witkoff's immediate resignation after these remarks. He is a Russian patsy, a traitor, and this has just gone for too long. It is has to end.

I don't think those tracks are able to accommodate high speed rail. I'm no engineer, but I know there's a lot of banking & such that's different for high speed rail. You can't just put it on your 1950s tracks & call it good.😏

Probably the biggest factor stopping hsr on the Boston/DC corridor is the cost of aquiring the land for the route. It would run through some of the most expensive real estate in the US.

Well it's about a 6 hr train ride, but what with having to get to the airport 2+ hrs before the flight, & airports being pretty good distance from home on either end (unlike the train stations), the difference in amount of hassle makes up for the difference in time.

Would this be a *state* special prosecutor? If not I wouldn't expect much.

As I said earlier, my my first post was about it. Someone with a big account responded in an exceptionally nasty way to my initial outreach. So I think I'm a little tetchy about it.πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

It's actually been one son's special interest since he was ~20 months old and the Falklands Islands war introduced him to the Harrier aircraft on the TV news.

I think I've been here for ~ 4 years so... how long do you think it will take to "get" me?

Like I said, I came on board in the days when you needed an invitation.

10.03.2026 03:22 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I don't know if they necessarily embrace it. I haven't been here from the beginning, but I did need an invitation, and I've never called them skeets. I go with "posts" as I think most folks do.

10.03.2026 03:04 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Well I've always hated "skeet" (I think my 1st post was about it), but does anyone still use the term? I thought everyone just called them posts now.

Let’s get one thing straight: We are not a Christian nation. We are a nation where you are free to be a Christian.

Your religion guides you, not all of us. It’s as simple as that.
