Let Cuba Live: End the U.S. Strangulation of Cuba Now
Text SIGN PZBEIB to 50409 โ I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to stop the Trump administrationโs escalating assault on Cuba. The reported oil blockade and broader economic strangulation of Cuba are inflicting a humanitarian crisis on ordinary people. Congress must intervene now to end this cruelty. Peopleโs World warns that this policy is creating a โcruel humanitarian crisis,โ and the call to Congress is explicit: stop the oil blockade and support legislation to end restrictions on trade, exchange, telecommunications, and travel with Cuba.
What is happening to Cuba cannot be separated from the broader regional agenda now being openly advanced by this administration. In Democracy Nowโs March 6 interview, Jake Johnston described the administrationโs hemispheric strategy as part of a โbipartisan and decadeslong strategyโ to undermine left governments in Latin America and consolidate a pro-U.S. right-wing bloc. He warned that this effort is about eroding institutions, sovereignty, and international law, and he specifically identified Cuba as one of the countries in the crosshairs.
This is not about democracy or human rights. It is about domination. The White House itself has framed its new regional initiative as reinforcing a so-called โDonroe Doctrine,โ while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth openly praised the Monroe Doctrine as the model for current policy in the hemisphere. At the same time, Democracy Now reported that Trump has hinted that regime change in Cuba could be a next target after attacks elsewhere in the region. Congress must reject this revived doctrine of intervention, coercion, and punishment.
The blockade of Cuba is endangering the lives of ordinary people and is designed to threaten Cubaโs sovereign right to determine its own future. That is why I urge you to co-sponsor and support H.R. 7521, S. 136, and H.Res. 1056 to end restrictions on trade, exchange, telecommunications, and travel with Cuba and to support a New Good Neighbor policy toward Latin America and the Caribbean.
For more than sixty years, U.S. policy toward Cuba has been rooted in punishment, siege, and regime-change obsession. It has inflicted suffering and solved nothing. Now, as regional leaders are pressured to prove their fidelity to Washington by cutting cooperation with Cuba, Congress must choose whether it will be complicit in this cruelty or act to stop it. Let Cuba live. End the blockade. End the aggression.

They bought a $98,329 Steinway piano for the Air Force chief of staff's home, $225 million on furniture including $12,000 fruit basket stands, $15.1 million on ribeye steak, $6.9 million on lobster tail, and $2 million on Alaskan king crab. This happened during a government shutdown that cut SNAP benefits for millions of Americans struggling to feed their families.
This is the definition of a bloated, overfunded military. The Pentagon clearly has more money than it knows what to spend responsibly. Hegseth has overseen a spending spree that prioritizes luxury items over fiscal responsibility. Remove him and redirect these excessive funds to programs that actually help Americans.

The watercolor painting is built up of many layers of different bright fresh green tones and shows the abstracted detail of a wildflower meadow with many four-leaf clovers. On one of the clovers sits a red ladybird with black dots. Due to the strong complementary contrast between red and green, this little lucky ladybird is the focus of the picture and attracts attention. The four-leaf clovers and the ladybird are symbols of luck. I wish you that this picture brings a lot of luck and joy into your home.

Economists warn that the conflict risks triggering a global energy shock that could slow economic growth while driving prices higher โ the classic conditions of stagflation.
Americans are already feeling the impact. Gasoline prices have risen sharply in the past week, and economists warn that sustained oil prices above $100 could push inflation higher while weakening economic growth. If the conflict continues, analysts warn that oil prices could climb significantly further, raising the risk of recession in multiple regions of the global economy.
The humanitarian consequences are equally alarming. A devastating strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh girlsโ primary school in Minab killed more than 160 people, most of them children. Video evidence and satellite analysis indicate that a U.S. Tomahawk missile struck a nearby Iranian military compound at the time of the attack. U.S. officials have acknowledged that the incident is under investigation, and international organizations have called for a full accounting of what occurred.
If confirmed, this tragedy demands transparency and accountability. The United States must uphold the highest standards for protecting civilians in armed conflict.
The war is also already costing American lives. Officials confirmed that at least seven U.S. service members were killed in an Iranian drone strike on a U.S. base in Kuwait. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has warned that โthere will be more casualtiesโ as the conflict continues.
At the same time, the Pentagon reports that thousands of targets have already been struck and that the campaign may expand further. This raises serious concerns about escalation, mission creep, and the possibility of another prolonged war in the Middle East without clear limits or defined objectives.
The Constitution grants Congress clear authority over matters of war and military funding. That authority exists precisely to prevent the United States from drifting into open-ended conflicts without democratic accountability.
Congress should act immediately to:
โข Demand a full briefing on the objectives, scope, and legal basis of current military operations.
โข Require transparent reporting on civilian casualties, including the Minab school strike investigation.
โข Clarify the limits of U.S. military engagement and insist on a clear strategy to prevent escalation.
โข Exercise its authority over appropriations to ensure continued military action reflects the will of the American people.
The United States must protect its security while avoiding a wider regional war that could cost many more American and civilian lives, destabilize global markets, and weaken our nation.
Congress must reclaim its constitutional role and ensure that America does not slide deeper into another prolonged conflict without authorization, oversight, and a defined path toward de-escalation.

Support Legislation Requiring Accurate Teaching of January 6 Events
Text SIGN PPNMHJ to 50409 โ I am writing to urge you to support legislation similar to Virginia's HB333, which establishes factual standards for teaching about the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Virginia recently became the first state to pass such legislation, and it is time for our state to follow suit.
HB333 requires Virginia public schools teaching about January 6 to describe it as an unprecedented, violent attack on United States democratic institutions for the purpose of overturning the 2020 presidential election results. The bill prohibits schools from portraying these events as a peaceful protest or presenting as credible the debunked claims of extensive election fraud that could have changed the outcome.
This legislation responds to a concerning disinformation campaign, including a White House website launched on January 6, 2026 that blamed Democrats and Capitol police for the violence while claiming the events were a peaceful protest. As Virginia Delegate Dan Helmer stated, this is a preventative measure against massive disinformation that could mislead our students about fundamental democratic processes.
The facts are not in dispute. State and federal judges in over 60 lawsuits, many appointed by Republican governors and presidents including Trump himself, rejected claims that fraud affected the 2020 election results. Dozens of former Trump administration officials testified under oath before the House Select Committee confirming no widespread fraud occurred. The violent nature of January 6 was documented by live television footage watched by millions, photos and videos posted by rioters themselves, and sworn testimony of law enforcement officers who were attacked.
Our students deserve education grounded in documented facts, not partisan revisionism. This is not about restricting speech but about establishing guardrails to ensure public education cannot present demonstrably false information as truth. I urge you to introduce or support similar legislation in our state to protect the integrity of our educational system and ensure students learn accurate history.
