Going to potentially reach an interesting point where brand new duplex units (half the building) are similar in price to remodeled old SFH homes in my neighborhood.

Someone must have mentioned that this graph looks a lot like Kentucky.
These are great! Thanks for sharing (and creating)
Just got a bartender to have a pop tart with me. Go jackets!
Nuts! Go jackets!
Go Jackets!
@ftrsblog.bsky.social thanks for the discount code for Section 103! Pumped about the new Polo and Hat (and polo for my kid). Go Jackets, beat Pitt!
Congrats! Big milestone.
TV Show Pitch: Someone leaves Derek a rowhome in Cincinnati. he moves in & creates America's trendiest new fashion scene, Over-the-rhinewear. Every episode a goon tells Derek why he is wrong about something & gets their fashion/life choices roasted. The city cheers & prospers. I would watch
We took it to the Greensboro Children's Museum on a Wed back in June and it seemed fairly empty boarding in Raleigh but pretty full after Durham. On the way back getting on in Greensboro our group of 6 needed to split up because there were not enough seats available together for that.
Is it the same hat?
Feels plausible that 1995 high schoolers would get hyped to be introduced to the idea of a good remix.
To get why this law is such a big deal for CA, see this insightful @mattyglesias.bsky.social bit about what yimby is & why anti-yimbyism existsβ¦though only in places with discretionary housing review.
Exempting infill homes from CEQA changes step 3 & thereby steps 4&5.
Land of the Long Leaf Pines.
Great podcast from oakcitycre with @zeanes.bsky.social . Enjoyed the reflections on things happening or not happening in the triangle. [Dirt NC] Interview with Zachery Eanes of Axios in Durham, NC #dirtNc

I don't think their complaints will hold up either π.
Here is that only example that came to my mind. www.cbs17.com/news/local-n...
This is a great bookstore name.
Great event to attend alert!
Soooo good!
Lots of NorthEasterners move to NC & seem thrown for a big loop when the school systems are all county based. Your town/city has to go along with the county school district's plans. Still heard people in Cary & Morrisville try to stop housing because they feel school building doesn't keep up.
Up to 7 duplexes within half a mile of me since they were made legal citywide in Raleigh about 3 years ago. This one has dropped $125,000 a side and not sold for over a year. But new ones are still being built. New Single Family Homes are $300,000 to $500,000 more.
www.zillow.com/homedetails/... this side of a new duplex started at $650,000 over a year ago. Might go for less than 10-15 year old Single Family Homes around it now.
@jasoncoxnc.bsky.social ....
What if the new episode ends on a cliff hanger, and you announce season 2 of the Martian Revolution coming after some break? Getting sad thinking about the thing being over.
Honestly I see more frustration that the IronWorks development is not connected well to safe bike infrastructure than people made about new bike infrastructure at the moment
Not organized that I know of. Sometimes there are opponents ish of ones placement that might go next to someone's house. But that is pretty one off. Never gets loud enough to be a thing like that. There are so many greenways now that they are just seen as a good all around IMO.
No opposition. Just took a while to complete. They did a lot of work to redo a long section of the Greenway and the water/waist water etc. pipes that run next to it
This breakdown of what happened when Oregon legalized missing middle looks just like what I see happening from Raleigh legalizing it.
I had never heard of the anti-monopoly people before, & a thought I had listening to that Ezra Klein podcast with them was, Does anyone (not deep in it) know who they are? And, does everyone seemingly knowing about Abundance all of a sudden drive them crazy? I bet that is frustrating.
