No joke, someone should record an audiobook of this. I would listen to this as a bedtime story.

If you're into that kind of thing, you might be interested in reading the (intro of) the thesis that proposed Nix and NixOS originally :)
I've been using it for more than a year on multiple machines (including my gaming PC and my homelab) and it's the most stable OS I've ever used. I broke my config a few times (mostly in the beginning), but then I just rebooted and selected the previous generation and fixed my mistake :)
Ansible is the poor man's Nix
So you're saying we might soon replace Python with Scala ? :D oh what a dream come true, thanks AI

"Do not update to latest `unstable-small`.
There is a major kernel regression that renders machines unbootable.
If you are on kernel ver 6.19.4 and have not yet been affected, you should rollback generations ASAP. "

Don't be so pretentious, that title belongs to me after deciding that having an unsealed water bottle in my bag containing my laptop would be a good idea!
Yes! And it's really great! And you can even get an LLM to write part of your config if you're too lazy
Yeah I was thinking the same, good way to weed out bots. But am I a bot β no one knows!

The "publish or perish" culture must perish. Scientists need time to think.
We just published our Slow Science Manifesto, where we argue that huge changes are needed in the way we fund, publish, and evaluate science.

If you don't know about it already, I would have a look at Framework laptops. They are tested for Linux compatibility and are designed to be repaired and upgraded (in stark contrast to MacBooks) :)

It's quite a lot easier than it may appear at first. Take a template, adjust a few things and you're good to go.
I was also hesitant at first, but the benefits (e.g. declarative release updates) are really worth it.

I'm surprised this is not forbidden under the Geneva convention

inspired by CLAUDE.md, Iβve started putting markdown files named after coworkers into work code repos so I can remind them to stop doing shit to the codebase that annoys me
for some reason theyβre all mad at me now, which means ill be adding commands to JEREMY.md for an attitude adjustment
Last night, I dreamt that we were playing at war with a couple of kids, and at some point, one of the American kids started shooting arrows in our direction. He hit me, and I got badly hurt. My reaction was to shout: "Why are you shooting at us, we're on the same team!".
Haha, silly dreams x)
