It is bad, but your post is incorrect. You need to delete and repost
Not quite true. There was one non-ICE homicide
A lot of wishful thinking from MAGA folks on prediction markets right now.
Edit: through the first 18 days of 2026, ICE responsible for 2 of the 4 shooting victims in Minneapolis, and 1 of the 2 homicides.
Ah.. I thought I had read that 2 people were shot in the incident with the Venezuelan immigrant being chased. Iβll re-post.
Ward 11 was very wise to not elect this person.
Forensic analysis of objective video evidence. This is how you serve readers searching for clarity.
Even the previous statement by her is a lie. Minneapolis homicides were down 16% in 2025. MN homicides as a whole were also down significantly.
Backs up to create space then goes around him. No βflailβ seen in video. He is clear before first shot occurs. Thatβs is all that matters. Zero reasonable fear for his safety at that point. Say one more false thing and Iβm blocking you.
Hereβs the moment of the first shot. Her wheel is clearly turned away from him. He is not in danger, and has no justification for shooting. Thatβs murder and will be prosecuted as such.
You should learn the difference between βtowardβ and βpastβ. ICE agent has to lean forward and fully extend to shoot her from the side of her vehicle as she went past.
If you havenβt actually watched the clear video, you should.
Average for the previous 3 years is 4 shooting victims by Jan 6th.
ICE is responsible for the *only* shooting and homicide in Minneapolis so far in 2026.
π―. Iβm hoping that this new park board will work better with other government partners!
My take: the new design could have been done with the $1m in County funding *if* the MPRB board had advocated for this compromise design.
Instead, they voted down any change, their hand was forced by soil contamination, MPRB has to pay for it all, and we get a path multiple years late.
The big issue is how to have abundant public restrooms that donβt get totally destroyed by the 0.01% of people who use them improperly. The βhigh techβ is how to stop those people from using them once they misbehave, in a non-creepy way. You can read about Throne Labsβ approach.
Congrats to the newly-elected board of @eastbankmpls.bsky.social, which represents far more residents than any other neighborhood org. After staying on board to help with the merger of neighborhood orgs, Iβm grateful to these wonderful volunteers β the org is in (many) good hands!!
Thank you, I love the results!
Awesome!! What rough area of town, if youβre willing to share?
If it was East African kids from out of town bringing guns to Dinkytown and being part of a shooting homicide, are you arguing itβs wrong to say so publicly? Or is it the βnot the poor kids who live in Minneapolisβ part of his comments?
Closest park to Dinkytown. Also a small park, so βdinkyβ fits.
The park formerly known as Marcy is now officially Dinky Park! Thanks to neighbors who picked the new name, thanks to @eastbankmpls.bsky.social for leading the charge, and thanks to MPRB for approving the change.
Btw, working full-time at minimum wage in Minneapolis gets you >$30k/year. My apartment costs $10k/year. So at least in Minneapolis, that number doesnβt really make any sense unless the person is unemployed or retired, or maybe the sole provider for larger family that needs much more space?
Sorry, I didnβt mean to get away from my main point, that recent Minneapolis development helped keep housing costs down here. NYC hasnβt had that. Most of the US hasnβt had that. They should! I know that healthcare and childcare and transportation costs are super high. Extremely important to address
Thatβs a misuse of the word recession then: βa business cycle contraction that occurs when there is a broad decline in economic activityβ. There has been no such decline, consumer spending is up since 2022.
Re Trump, ppl were mad about some prices up, even though their incomes were up even more.
Enabling the building of thousands of new units of student housing much closer to campus directly impacted demand for the units in my apartment complex.
Are you really arguing that weβve been in a recession of the last 3 years? Thatβs undeniably false.
Cool! I feel like thatβs exactly how it should work. People who want brand new nice apartments pay a premium, while budget options are available to those who want that instead.
In cities/areas where they donβt build new housing, more people have to compete for the old units, driving up those rents
Not many! 425? But the layout is ideal for a small studio. I have room for a queen bed, a large standing desk, my e-bike, a loveseat, 500+ vinyl records, a large closet, etc.
I just havenβt seen evidence that Minneapolis renter demand now is lower than it was in 2022. An incredible amount of housing has come online in the Dinkytown since then, so thereβs probably less student demand for these older units 10-15 minutes farther (by bus) from campus.
