Really sad to not be at SBL with my biblical studies online besties, so here are some pics from some Roman ruins in CΓ³rdoba from my day. You can see my nerdy delight from being in the birthplace of Seneca π

Prepping for classes on Gen 1 & 2, so ofc listening to the masterpiece that is Haydn's "The Creation" www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuIs...
I'm consistently amused by the way that ND undergrads relate everything to football. I'm sure that I will post amusing examples throughout the semester. Today was "Interpreting the Bible" with Dei Verbum Β§11-13 & Randolph Tate's "A Journey Into Three Worlds." I used the Parable of the Good Samaritan throughout, having them work out what insights each approach gives us. For reader-centered approaches, when I asked them how their context & background gives unique interpretations of this text, one said: For home games some people like to wear the jersey of the opposite team. But we are consistently told that ND students are the nicest to the opposing fans. So we are like the good Samaritan π #GoSportsball #Guolrish
This is intro to Bible & early church. Requires of all undergrads
