One month into what's seems like it might be the end of times. The art and story from @jamesstokoe.bsky.social in Godzilla Deluxe has been a real bright spot...and opened up a new niche hyperfixation for my 10-year-old.
Being stuck in that tunnel, and trying to navigate the Treehouse line, was a special level of hell compared to being on on field N1. Although, I'd take that tunnel over sitting through the May '09 show again.
I was wrong 12/31 was not the best show of the run. That said I think it's the best 12/31 of 3.0 /4.0 musically. Change my mind.
I generally think most branded / logo'd clothing is cringy, but I have to wonder if Phish's heavy policing of their parking lots in the 90s is why their iconography so terrible, and why both their official and unofficial merch is the worst in the scene.
The first Bundesliga match day of 2025 is snuck up on us. BVB v. Bayer to kick things off is great on paper, but this year's BVB seems unlikely to make it competitive. Kompany meanwhile has his most likely banana peel, until Leverkusen in over a month, when he travels to Borusia Park tomorrow.

I feel like if you didn't hear parks & rec was essential that's on you. But in case you missed it, the simpsons, mad men, game of thrones, curb your enthusiasm, breaking bad, the wire, the soproanos, and twin peaks were pretty good to.
We tried, but we we're too hot, not too spun.
If you need to get through fast watch seasons 3-8, but it's honestly still a top 10 show of five different decades.
Unless the kids in your town were looking to create a 6 foot wide ice patch and wanted to use sledding as an excuse for plausible deniability
Having seen Jerry in 93 and 95 I don't think those experiences are worth as much as seeing Trey in 95 - 00. Seeing Jerry 91 and earlier is a whole other story. But, I think I'd rather be the age I am now, or 10 years younger, than 10 years older just so I could have seen pre-Vince Dead.
If your mom doesn't have real anxiety about the potential of Princess Diana (or whatever the 2025 equivalent is) coming over to your home for dinner unexpectedly, with their entire security detail, do they really love you?
There was also a short lived @osirispod.bsky.social podcast "God.Ween.Evan" that's a fun listen to as you're diving in. It's a similar premise to Analyze Phish.

A treat in 24 was my 10 y/o discovering comics (I never did) thanks to a Deadpool from a flea market. Since then we've read a comic every night at bed. His highlight of the year was meeting @fabiannicieza.bsky.social. He's ending the year with Magneto and Cable that he found at our local shop today.
It's made worse when you consider they fired Bo Svensson because Baumgart became available. Baumgart is destined to get Union relegated.
I agree they're not casual, but that doesn't mean they're informed.
ESPN/NBC aren't ready to invest yet in coverage that offers x's & o's. I wish they were. CBS has been great. But watch Ale Moreno cover Bundesliga on ESPN if you want to see what most networks think American's can digest.
A year that started with the death on Franz Beckenbauer, saw the re-election of Donald Trump, it's not surprising its ending mid-40s and raining. Not feeling terribly optimistic globally for 2025, but here's to health, happiness, and resilience to those we love.
You get this with Champions League broadcasts. The problem is both the talent that US broadcasts hire and the audience has less appetite for it.
There's a not zero chance that this soccer season ends with ManU relegated, Barcelona in Europa League not Champions League, ManCity knocked out the group stage of CL and without top 4 in PL, and Bayern with back to back seasons without tropheys... what are the odds on that schadenfreude parlay
