Section of an air-liquid interface human airway epithelium culture, stained for MUC5AC (green), actin (phalloidin, pink), acetyl alpha tubulin (orange). Nice and tidy cell-cell junctions + a layer of actin around the basal bodies, a goblet cell + mucus in MUC5AC, and dense brushlike cilia. Note! All channels but MUC5AC are a single z. MUC5AC is z projected to visualize both the goblet cell & the cute little strands of mucus being disgorged.
