I was a precinct chair in Houston and many issues involved the new "progressives" which gave us George W Bush for Governor. The "leftist" Democrats were unhappy with many gains made by Black people within the party and decided to hold votes or vote 3rd party. Knowing a heart doesn't equal a vote.
