Yeah, I don't keep it either. It's exactly like that. The age group in my server collectively is so ancient that trying to force us to do it is almost laughable to me. A lot of us are well into our thirties and forties.

A lot of us server owners have been checking ID's for a long time now to keep the users in our servers safe. My entire problem is the forced regulation of something that the users themselves have been perfectly capable of performing this entire time.

I'm not pleased about it either. My sentiment was to point out that in case giving your ID to them because of their previous data breech or having your picture taken was the part that is most bothersome like it is to me, it is perhaps something that can be waved based on data they already have.

If you did read this article all the way to the bottom, it does say they will analyze the messages the users have written to also determine their age. While this isn't fantastic regardless (I check the IDs of everyone I invite to my server, for instance) it's not great. I am not a fan of any of it.
