I LOVE (the previous version of) LOCAS SO MUCH!
@greeniezona
Enthusiast of too many things, especially books, fungi, rainbows, MDZS, Ingress, people so hyper-focused on their interests they open a whole museum/shop/press about it. Managing editor at Dancing Star Press. She/her https://linktr.ee/greeniezona

At this point I am looking at the list of the rest of my holds and thinking β maybe could you not? π«
Babes, I have SO MANY library holds coming in for the #TransRightsReadathon right now.
IT IS AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT.
YES. YES, I AM. (adoring)
I COMPLETELY LOST MY MIND OVER IT.
I WISH I COULD YELL ABOUT TRANS BOOKS ALL DAY, but alas, I do have other responsibilities.
I do want to say that my criteria for picking these books was to start from my 100 Trans Books I Love list and choose only books that had 0-1 responses so far, and I have A LOT OF FEELINGS about various books not included on this list.

Representing small presses once again! With books from:
@atthisarts.com
@andotherstories.bsky.social
@stelliform.press
@neonhemlock.bsky.social
@tachyonpub.bsky.social
You should be following them all for more weird queer bullshit! (affectionate)
All of these books inspire very feral feelings in me, so I want you to appreciate how much text I had to delete to get each book description to fit into a single post, when I have written long threads raving about most of these. SHOW SOME RESPECT AND PUT ONE OR MORE OF THESE ON YOUR TBR RIGHT! NOW!
The Transitive Properties of Cheese by Ann LeBlanc
BABES, GET IN, IT'S A CHEESE HEIST.
IT'S NOT JUST TRANSGENDER IT'S TRANSHUMAN. WITH CLONE-FUCKING & EARTH VS. SPACE STATIONS & TRAUMA & CONSPIRACIES & LISTEN, LET'S TALK ABOUT CHEEEEEEEEEEEESE. π§
These Fragile Graces, This Fugitive Heart by Izzy Wasserstein
A near-future climate fiction thriller that also unpacks disassociation as a coping mechanism for growing up with anti-trans parents. Clones & bioengineering companies & shadowy figures meeting under overpasses and what's a girl to do?
Queens of Noise by Leigh Harlen
Shifters & magic & found family & the music scene & small venues & a Scooby Doo mystery & murderous chickens & gender feels & finding out who you are. High energy with a queer punk aesthetic.
Sordidez by E.G. CondΓ©
Post climate-apocalypse Puerto Rico & YucatΓ‘n with trans man protagonist. War leads to war leads to revenge leads to war, but also Taino & Mayan culture & gardening & solar nets & reclaiming your heritage & magic & throwing off your colonial oppression once and for all.
Tentacle by Rita Indiana, translated by Achy Obejas
Sacred anemone, magical trans transformation, climate disaster, art history, time travel to save the ocean. Startling & mud-dragged & glistening & fraught & intellectual & visceral & AMAZING. (MIND THE CWs!!)
Pluralities by Avi Silver
From soul-crushing mall jobs to sparkly purple gender euphoria, with a narrative-crossing rogue prince fleeing his responsibilities with his sentient spaceship, this book is MAGIC AND MADE ME VOMIT JOY ACROSS SEVERAL TIMELINES.
under-loved trans rights readathon recs: novella edition under the titles are the cover images for six books. they are: Pluralities by Avi Silver Tentacle by Rita Indiana Sordidez by E.G. CondΓͺ Queens of Noise by Leigh Harlen These Fragile Graces, This Fugitive Heart by Izzy Wasserstein The Transitive Properties of Cheese by Ann LeBlanc
Day two of my under-loved #TransRightsReadathon recommendations is OBVIOUSLY about small press novellas! Because what could be more satisfying during a readathon than a stack of novellas?
That said, R.B. Lemberg is bigender, Kama La Mackerel identifies as trans femme, Yaffa identifies as trans, Rachel Plummer uses they/them pronouns, and Eli Tareq El Bechelany-Lynch uses they/them pronouns.
When I say trans books I am using the definition put forth by the Trans Rights Readathon, which is books featuring trans characters and/or by an out trans author. It isn't always easy to confirm whether an author is trans and I definitely don't want to out anyone who isn't open.
Listen, I am once again begging authors posting their shiny book promo graphics to PLEASE include a buy link in the thread. Links aren't punished here! And I am but a ADHD squirrel who WILL get distracted if you make me open a search engine.

My brain has been mostly offline for a few days except for the Fandom Market auction, but it is time to get back to banging pots and pans together about this book!
That book is absolutely unhinged in all the best ways!
Covers for Hornytown Chutzpah, Ex Partum, and Dream the Deep sit on an illustrated book shelf, text reads indie novella love: comedic, Jewish, fantasy noir; mama-centered sci-fi, deep-sea sci-fi
What do puppets in hell, carrots in your shit, and a giant cephalopod have to do with each other?
They're in human-crafted indie novellas about defying authority through community. And they're all on the way.
